在課前十分鐘,當學生進入報告廳時,播放一段配合這節課主題的音樂“The Animal Sound Song”。當學生坐定之后,播放《寶貝動起來》(洪恩英語韻律操),讓學生跟著做英文課間操,舒緩學生緊張的狀態并讓其迅速進入到學習英文的狀態中。

Step1.Warm-upand lead-in

T:Hello,boys and girls.Let’shave fun with English together,OK?

Ss:OK.

T:First let’s do a finger play.

(學生邊說邊表演這首動物主題的手指兒歌,歌詞見圖1。)

T:OK.Good.What do you see in that rhyme?

Ss:I see a cow,a rabbit,a cat and a dog.

T:So they are animals.Do you like animals?

Ss:Yes.

T:Good.Herearesome more animals.They live in the forest.What are they?What do you see?I point and you say,OK?

Ss:OK.

(教師依次指出動物,學生齊答。)

T:Do you like animals?

Ss:Yes.

T:Today we are going to read a book about animals.Guess! Whatanimalis it?Listen! It’s very big and fat.It likes honey.What is it?

Ss:It’s a bear.

T:Good,bear.You know a funny rhyme about bears,right?Look,here’s a bear family.Let’s try to say and act.

T:Now look atmybig picture book.On the cover,there is a big...

Ss:Bear.

T:Correct.

T:(教師指著大開頁繪本封面上的bear提問)Look at the bear.What color is it?

Ss:It’s brown.

T:You’re right.It’s brown.It’s a brown bear.So this book iscalled Brown Bear,Brown Bear,What Do You See?Let’s read the title together.

T&Ss:Brown Bear,Brown Bear,What Do You See?

T:Written by Bill Martin Jr.and illustrated by Eric Carle.

T:Let’s open the picture book and see.Wow! So many beautiful colors here.Can you say the colors?

Ss:Yes.

T:Now let’stry.What color do you see?

Ss: Brown, red, yellow,blue,green,purple,white,black and orange.

T:Perfect.So can you say a rhyme about colors?

Ss:Yes.

Step 2.Presentation and practice

T:So you know this is a pretty picture book about animals and colors.Do you want to read it?

Ss:Yes.

T:Now listen to me and enjoy.

(教師伴隨著柔和的音樂一頁一頁地朗讀繪本,將繪本面向學生,教師課前特地準備了大開頁繪本,讓學生能夠看圖閱讀,體驗紙質繪本閱讀的樂趣。)

T:Children,what do you see in this picture book?Let’s try to look and say.If you can’t say some of the new words,I will tell you.

Ss:We see a brown bear,a red bird,a yellow duck,a blue...

T:Horse.

Ss:A green frog,a purple cat,a white cat,a black...

T:Sheep.

Ss:A...

T:Goldfish.

Ss:And a teacher.

T:Good,look at us.That’s what we see.Can you tell me what“looking at”means?Please look at the little funny picture and guess.

Ss:It means“看”.

T:Good.It means“正在看”.Now,look at my eyes.I am looking at you.And you are...

Ss:Looking at us.

T:How clever you are!Now look! Can you read this word? “for, or”, the letter combination “or”is read as[蘅:].So“h-o-r-s-e”,who can read?

Ss:[h蘅:s].

T:You are right.I’ve got many horses here,white horse,black horse...Now look! What do you see?You should answer like this,“I see...”.Clear?

Ss:Yes.

T:It is the year of the horse,and next year is the year of the sheep. Let’s learn“sheep”.The letter combination“she”is read as[蘩i:].So“s-he-e-p”,who can read?

S:[蘩i:p].

T:Good job.This is a long sound [i:].Don’t read like the word “ship”,got it?Right.And here are some sheep here,white sheep,black sheep...Now look!What do you see? Quick respond.

Ss:It’s a goldfish.

T:Yes.Open your eyes and see.And what about them?They are not animals.But they are cute and lovely,just like you.Close your eyes and listen.I am a boy and you are a girl.Who are they?

Ss:They are children.

T:Children,just now I read this picture book.Do you want the computer to read this picture book for you?

Ss:Yes.

T: Let’s listen to the computer.It can read beautifully.

T: Can you find the rhyming words?

Ss:See,me.

T:Good.Let’s see.See,me,see,me,see,me...“ee”in“see”is pronounced [i:]and“e”in“me”is pronounced[i:]too.They are the same ending sounds.So these are called the rhyming words.Read after me,please,[i:].

Ss:[i:].

T:Quick response time.What do you see?I will show the pictures on the big screen quickly.And you should respond with the sentence “Isee...looking at me”.Quickly,let’s practice the rhyming words.Ready?

Ss:Go!

T:Very good.We see Mrs.Obama looking at us.She likes reading picture books too,just like you and me.This time try to read along with the boy in the computer and enjoy the beautiful rhythm of this picture book.

T:Children,can you find something interesting? See,at the end of the first sentence,there is “red bird”,and at the beginning of the second sentence,there is “red bird”too.The same as“yellow duck”-“yellow duck”, “blue horse”-“blue horse”... It is called rhetorical repetition.Interesting,isn’t it?Let’s keep on saying.

T&Ss:“White dog”-“white dog”, “purple cat”-“purple cat”,“green frog”-“green frog”,“blacksheep”-“greenfrog”,“goldfish”-“goldfish”,“children”-“children”.

T:Verygood.Now take your exercise paper and fill in the blanks.

(Students fill in the blanks on the paper just the same like what they have practiced.)

Step 3.Consolidation and extension

T:Children,listen,what do you hear?

T:Yes,we can read this picture book and we can sing this picture book. Before enjoying the music,I have a task foryou.Herearesome picture cards from the picture book.Let’s read them first.

T:Close youreyes and some of you will get a picture card.

T:Now open youreyes.While you are enjoying the song,stick your card on the blackboard as soon as you hear it. Understand? Let’s get started.

T:Great.Can you stick the phrase cards under each picture cards?Go and stick.

T:Show time.Here are four groups.Twelve in a group.And each of you acts like one animal in this picture book.Here are the head wears ofcharacters.The group leader decides the character and distribute the head wears to you.If you are ready,just clap your hands for three times together and let me know.Clear?

Step 4. Discussion activity with a focus on the extension of the picture book
