1. Call the shots 發號施令，指揮，操縱

To decide on the course of action； to be in charge

e.g. I don’t know if you heard， but I call the shots around here.

2. Call it a night 今晚就做到這里

To end what one is doing at night and go [home] to bed

e.g. At midnight， I finally called it a night and went to bed.

3. The call of nature 上洗手間，上廁所

The need to go to the bathroom

e.g. Stop the car here！ I have to answer the call of nature.

4. Call sb. out 挑釁，挑撥某人打架

To challenge someone to a fight

e.g. Wilbur wanted to call him out， but thought better of it.

5. Call off the dogs 停止追蹤

To stop threatening， chasing， or hounding sb.

e.g. Tell the sheriff to call off the dogs. We caught the robber.
