在英語教學中最讓學生頭疼、最薄弱的環(huán)節(jié)就是英語作文,甚至有些學生在考試中的作文交了白卷。加強中學生英語寫作能力,突破傳統(tǒng)中學英語寫作教學的不足是當務之急。我摸索出了幾種寫作初步練習的策略。
1. 加標點符號,并檢查掌握大寫字母使用規(guī)則的情況。如:

2. 把一篇短文打散,讓學生按邏輯關系把它重新排成思想連貫的文章。如:閱讀下列各句,把你認為正確的次序用數(shù)字填入句后的圓括號內。
(1)My alarm clock didn’t go off, and by the time I woke up, my father had already gone into the bathroom and I had to wait for him to come out.()
(2)I took a quick shower, had some breakfast, and then ran off to the bus stop.()
(3)I had to really rush. ()
(4) I’ve never been late for school, but yesterday I came very close.

(5)Unfortunately, by the time I got there, the bus had already left.

3. 提一組問題,要求用完整句回答,并把這些問題的答案串起來,就成為一篇短文。先口頭回答,后筆頭作文。如教完九年級Unit 8 Section B 3a 一文后,我提出幾個問題: What was everyone trying to do last week? Is Jimmy happy again this week?What problem did Jimmy have last week?How did Jimmy solve his problem?Are the ways of Jimmy’s dealing with problem OK?Why does he want to buy old bikes?學生回答后,要求學生根據(jù)答案復述幾遍,檢查無誤后,再把它寫出來。
4. 將書面表達與聽力、口語教學相結合。我先組織學生聽課文一至兩遍,然后提問,以檢查學生是否能夠聽音會意。在聽懂的情況下,就課文梗概提問,要求學生說。最后寫出每段的關鍵句、主題句或全文大意。
5. 看圖寫短文。給學生看一組圖片,先把畫中的主要意思說出來,然后寫。畫面不要太復雜,讓學生容易抓住主要內容。操練時我根據(jù)需要分步出示簡筆畫,要求學生就每幅圖說幾句話,最后能借助圖畫連貫地復述課文,經(jīng)反復操練后,要求學生寫出所說內容,形成課文的縮寫版或改寫版。
6. 指導學生歸納出常見的表達方法與技巧。比如按時間順序表達的詞匯有first, second, third, after, before等。按空間順序表達的單詞一般都是介詞,如:on, in, under, near, above等。按事物發(fā)展順序,可用start,begin, when…then…and then…
7. 互動寫作,揚長避短。比如可以讓學生進行演講比賽。課前讓同學們都準備自己演講比賽的內容,然后五人一組進行活動。每個同學在組內演講,其他同學對其文章進行評論,進行修改,集思廣益,選出優(yōu)美的句子。最后由他們共同寫出本組的范文,推選出一名同學代表本組在全班進行演講比賽。
