【摘要】很多人認為,游戲教學只適合于兒童時代的教學,因此,在語言的教學中,隨著年齡的增長,“游戲”逐漸淡出了語言教學課堂。特別是六年級的英語教學,處境十分的尷尬:應試和升學的壓力,使得語言的學習極具功利性,學生對于語言的學習,在很大的程度上都是為了考試。這里當然有歷史和社會的原因,也是我們暫時無法改變的事實。問題是,如何在這樣的背景下探索教學新路徑,既能顧及學習中的情趣,又能有效地提高學生的應試能力?這是我們一線教師無時無刻都需要思考的問題。

目前,受應試制度影響,學生在英語學習中遇到的一個大問題就是詞匯的記憶。雖然我們明確地反對“死記硬背”,而鼓勵學生在篇章閱讀、對話應用等具體環境下的語言運用來加強詞匯的記憶,但功課的繁重、學習時間的分割,使得學生和教師在這個問題上無所適從。但下面這個課例卻給了我們這樣的提示:在六年級的英語課堂上,我們可以運用“游戲教學法”,有效地促進學生的語言學習與運用。在課堂的教學中,我們可以穿插一些經過精心設計的游戲來有效地提升學生對基礎語言知識的記憶,以及使得語言的學習變得趣味十足,而不是枯燥無味。
首先,我們來看看這一課例:

B.Student will be able to talk in Present Continuous Tense.
C.Students will be able to express their own opinions.
D.Students will be able to build sentences describing what their classmates are wearing.

Step one: Greeting

T: How about “Sausage”? I need a student to come here and sit in my chair. Who wants to come? Johnson!

Please sit down and answer all the questions that other students might ask with only one answer:sausage! If you smile or change the answer--you will lose your turn.
