Research on Cultivation Mode of Employment Competitiveness of College Students with Financial Difficulties〔*〕

College students with financial difficulties are often faced with more employment difficulties in job hunting due to multiple factors,in which,employment competitiveness becomes the key factor to determine whether they can obtain employment smoothly.This paper explores realization of improvement of employment competitiveness of students with financial difficulties in the cultivation mode of “one body with two wings” through job searching status analysis and feature induction of the college students with financial difficulties.

Ⅰ.Reason analysis for employment difficulties of students with financial difficulties

1.At the personal level,the comprehensive quality of the students with financial difficulties is of “soft poverty”.A part of poor students rarely attend interpersonal communication and team activities due to self-abasement,resulting in lack of practical exercises;a part of poor students take part-time jobs due to life stress,severely affecting daily study and resulting in academic difficulties.Such students cannot meet the requirements of the employers due to quality insufficiencies,resulting in weak position in employment.〔1〕Therefore,it is required to provide the security subsidy for the poor students to enter schools and provide them with development subsidy for comprehensive ability cultivation and individualized growth.

2.At the college level,the career planning guidance system for the students with financial difficulties is weak.Currently,the career planning guidance and systematic employment service system of colleges in China are still at the preliminary stage and the employment guidance is mostly for consultation,agreement signing and other routine work and the students with financial difficulties are mainly economically subsidized,which will inevitably exert significant influence on the employment of college graduates.

3.At the social level,the students with financial difficulties are often in a weak position in terms of social support system in employment.They are often strong in will but weak in power due to few social relations,poor family conditions,heavy financial burden,great psychological pressure and other factors in employment competition;due to real environment restrictions and concept constraints,they are in the face of delay in signing time,low signing rate and poor posts selected in the employment.

Ⅱ.Integrating occupational planning professional liberal education and diversified training and provide growth engine

“Employment” is the foundation of people’s livelihood.To achieve full employment,it is required to cultivate the talents meeting the social development and market requirements first.Enhancing the competitiveness of the college graduates is the key to solve the problem.

For talent cultivation,it is required to intensify the ability training role of colleges in the college student employment by means of the colleges - the main position of employment guidance and design the teaching plans and teaching content suitable for the college students to constantly inject new content in the employment guidance courses.Meanwhile,the employment guidance shall run through the study of college students and the students shall accept relevant education after entering the colleges.The colleges shall comprehensive improve the students’ comprehensive quality through pre-job planning education,teaching of skills required in job market and training for skills required in job search.

1.Carry out occupational planning and guidance

Occupational planning and employment guidance are required for smooth transition from campus to workplace role.Occupational planning is the precondition of occupation choice and employment and the wind vane of career.

For occupational planning,it is required to carry out self-exploration first,i.e.self cognition,understanding of interest,skills and specialty and clarification of the life positioning.Help students to comprehensively understand their own interest,ability and value through self-exploration method and skills,so that the students meet the true themselves for future professional orientation and career development.

For occupational planning,it is required to carry out occupational exploration.On the one hand,introduce the students to explore the world of occupation by introducing different working modes of industry,occupation and business and the external occupational environment to have preliminary understanding of the occupational environment and existing industry,help students to design their own career development path and find appropriate themselves under the leadership of the whole occupational exploration;on the other hand,exchange with senior professionals (generally the practitioners of the occupation in which the students are interested) to understand the actual working conditions of the post and obtain the “internal” information in relevant industrial fields,so as to recognize the essence of things and their own striving direction,which is actually an indirect and fast occupational experience activity to shape their ideal own in expectations.〔2〕

2.Give consideration to professional and liberal education

With the social development,the industry types are also changed,some traditional industries disappear and some emerging industries appear,so the colleges are required to keep pace with the times,adhere to deepening teaching reform,enrich layers of running school,adjust the major setup according to the market requirements and cultivate “counterpart” talents for powerful skills and specialties to adapt to the demands for talents in different industries.Meanwhile,current talent competition is to comprehensively balance the human quality,such as verbal expression skills,solidarity and cooperation ability from all directions and multiple angles rather than consideration of professional ability.Therefore,it is required to strengthen the liberal education for college students and consolidate the foundation to adapt to diversified social competition.

According to their own characteristics,the students with financial difficulties shall combine the foundation with the application,ability and special ability from the following aspects to improve their employment competitiveness.(1) Master the emotion management ability;(2) Master the time management ability;(3) Master the Office automation software operation ability;(4) Master the team cooperation and communication ability.

3.Explore diversified competitiveness improvement channels

Employment competitiveness improvement is mainly to explore the talent training mode meeting social development and market requirements.The students with financial difficulties shall be helped from giving type to motivational type and ability-enhancing type.In the employment guidance,it is required to train the students with financial difficulties to form good employment mentality according to their psychological characteristics,help them to adapt to social competition and obtain employment smoothly,so as to cope with partial employment pressure and promote social harmony.

(1) Establish the personal information archives of the students with financial difficulties and help them in career planning.The personal information archives shall contain comprehensive evaluation of interest,character and ability,employment ideal and aim and employment scheme.Manage the student information archives from department,school to college and from bottom to top,establish a mentor group and form a human resource library by virtue of social resources and provide docking services to meet the individualized requirements for student ability improvement.

(2) Strengthen psychological counseling for the students with financial difficulties to make psychological preparation for job search.Strengthen the degree of cognition of psychological support for poor students,give corresponding attention and conduct personality health education,positive adaptation education,emotional stability education,willpower optimization education and interpersonal concordance education at the school level.Enhance the psychological quality of students through group consultation,salon,lectures,quality development and other activities,guide them to correctly recognize themselves,overcome inferiority complex,ease anxiety about job search and actively cope with pressure of competition.

(3) Teach the students with financial difficulties in diversified modes and improve the employment training system.Increase field practice,simulation experience,public benefit energy and other links on the basis of traditional classroom instruction form,integrate “highly effective youth self-management habit” including mentality management,objective management,time management,win-win thinking,effective communication and teamwork into the thinking and behavior of the service objects and introduce team coach and other domestic and foreign coaching technologies to Venture Philanthropy projects by reference to the curriculum system Seven Habits of Highly Effective Executives widely adopted by the global 500 companies and the innovative training system to practically walk towards the original point of education and deeply integrate into society.

Ⅲ.Setting up two wings of employment competitiveness for students relying on the enterprise and social support platform

The enterprise and society are external support of college students to achieve employment and are indispensable like both wings of the bird.

1.Strengthen university-enterprise cooperation and make enterprise support

Require students to “go out” for practice on the one hand and invite entrepreneurs to “come in” to give meticulous guidance and carry out entrepreneurship and plan on the other hand.

(1) Establish most intuitive understanding of the society,enterprises and market by guiding the students to walk out of the school and walk into the organizations and enterprises to visit and study.Make students feel the workplace atmosphere as early as possible and try to strive for opportunities of internship in the well-known enterprise visit,informal discussion with executives and enterprise culture introduction by HR.Encourage students to establish the self-sacrifice awareness while obtaining various resources and to practice public benefit with practical action.Encourage students to understand the philosophy for public benefit,design public benefit projects and eventually implement the public benefit plan to express appreciation.

(2) Offer learning courses in the form of entrepreneurial stories.Cultivate the reading habits of the students in the form of Reading Party,recommend reading the books of successful entrepreneurs,write reading notes and share wonderful content in the classroom to train the speech ability of students.Invite successful entrepreneurs and social elite in the Reality Show to set good examples for students by using their own experience,so that the students can draw successful experience,learn from lessons and excavate and analyze their own entrepreneurship potential.

(3) Guide the students on occupational information search,resume writing,interview skills and some necessary workplace manners to understand resume structure and elements,detail treatment,first impression in interview,etiquette guidelines and solutions to common problems,so as to master the most practical job interview skills;provide a dual-option meeting platform of entrepreneurship and employment for the students with financial difficulties through Mock Interviews in the form of live action dual-option meeting (theme session by industry or occupation) or site dual-option meeting of HR zero distance and Jobs Come Jobs Go,provide the students with appropriate posts through interaction and give rationalization proposals for entrepreneurship.Contact large enterprises and arrange internship,so that the college students can be in contact with the enterprises and understand the occupational environment in advance.

The university-enterprise cooperation platform integrates quality enterprise resources to create green employment channels for the students with financial difficulties.Provide “special archiving,track services,private guidance,key recommendation and strong subsidy” for poor students;establish dynamic support archives for the students with financial difficulties and provide special job fairs to accurately subsidize poor students for employment and directly improve the employment rate and the employment quality.Construct a visible market for the graduates with the subject of employment center and actively develop the invisible market of graduates with the core of employment information network.

2.Carry out social facilitation and make social support

Construct a social support system and implement the tutor twining and help system.Absorb the experts in first line of enterprises and in various fields as the growth coaches by integrating quality social educational resources,carry out one-to-one employment counseling in online and offline communication and interaction mode,deeply dig potential for individual needs of students,help them to establish self-confidence and clarify direction and achieve change and improvement from thinking to behavior and from inside to outside,so that the students have sufficient courage,self-confidence and resources to face the challenges in employment,development and even life.Improve and promote the problems in employment and practically help students to integrate into the society.

Require students to steadily walk this step,successfully internalize the knowledge learned into their own quality and ability and obtain high-quality employment smoothly.“Signed employment” is not the end point.Continue to provide services for the students within 3~6 months after employment and help them to adapt to the workplace and improve employment quality;carry out regular track revisit,get in touch with the employers on work,study and life,strengthen employment tracking services for poor graduates by establishing the graduate employment tracking archives and providing graduate forums and coordinate with the employers to help solve various working and living difficulties within 3 years after graduation;〔3〕achieve “last mile” for employment tracking.

“Don’t make a student to drop out for poverty” is the policy of the Ministry of Education and the embodiment of adhering to socialist orientation for running a school and of promoting “educational equality” principle.Great efforts have been made for economic support for the students with financial difficulties in current policies,but the employment support is still at the initial stage for the underlying problems of the students with financial difficulties.The college students with financial difficulties are special groups and their employment quality is important for educational equality,social stability and school harmony.Therefore,it is required to fulfill the cultivation mode of “one body with two wings” employment ability improvement,improve the employment competitiveness of the students with financial difficulties and promote their full employment relying on the support of enterprise and society joint development based on comprehensive quality improvement around the students with financial difficulties through the school employment guidance.
