Step 1. Revision
1. Greetings.
2. Answer the questions about Unit 1.
a. What kind of cartoons does Daming like best?
b. What does Betty think the ending will be?
c. Why does Betty say she will be a superwoman?
Step 2. Presentation
Show some cartoon heroes to the students with the help of OHP, then put forward questions:
a. Do you like watching cartoons?
b. Which cartoon characters do you remember? Where are they from?
c. Are they recent or old characters?
Lead students to say out a series of cartoons such as Nemo, Shrek, the Monkey King, etc.
Introduce students to finish the table together.

Step 3. Prereading
Before reading the passage, get students to predict.
a. How many cartoons will be mentioned in the passage?
b. Can you guess what the passage is about?
Step 4. Skim reading
Give students 3-4 minutes to read the text quickly for the first time to find out the sentence which best summaries the passage. This activity is to help students to catch the main idea of the text in a limited time.
Step 5. Reading again
Before students read each paragraph, show the questions to the students and ask them to find out the answers after reading each paragraph.

This activity is to help students focus on key words, expressions and drills related to the passage.
Step 6. Intensive reading
1. Play the recorder and have the students read after the recording carefully.
2. Choose the right words to finish sentences by working in groups with books closed:
cute, emperor, fan club, heaven, lovable, mess, monster, private.(題略)This activity is to help students to improve their oral expression ability and writing skills.
Step 7. Group work
Introduce students to summarize the words that are used to describe someone’s appearances, characters and people’s feelings.
This activity is to help students to revise the useful words and get ready for oral expressions and writing.
Step 8. Pair work and report
Ask the students to work in pairs.
1. What’s your favorite cartoon?
2. What does he/she look like? What is he/she like?
3. Why do you like him/her?
4. How do you feel?
Then choose some students to report his/her information.
This activity is to help students to improve their oral expression ability and lay foundations for writing.

教學反思
一節英語課是否成功的標志即學生是否能于當堂課將課堂上所學的知識與自己的實際生活聯系起來,并用英語進行思維和表達。在上到Module 9的Unit 2時,我先是在初2007(4)班上,事先也考慮過這篇課文雖然詞匯量大、篇幅長、語法涉及學生接觸不多的定語從句,但是考慮到該篇閱讀文章的話題是孩子們感興趣的動漫角色的介紹,因此在熱身環節和鋪墊的環節上,我未將reading passage 的關鍵詞和重要短語融入動漫角色介紹,只給學生們閱讀一遍后,就直接讓學生完成Activity 2、4 的練習,由于倉促和鋪墊不足,輸入的知識有限,結果可想而知:互動的效果未能出來,且也沒有突出語言教學的語用原則。因此在接下來上初2007(2)班的課時,我迅速調整教案,在熱身環節充分挖掘和練習reading passage 的語言點、知識點,將該閱讀教學分成“三步走”。第一步,give students 3-4 minutes to read the text quickly for the first time to find out the sentence which best summaries the passage。第二步是讓學生read again。將該文章細化,分成四部分,并在每一部分閱讀之前,讓學生明確閱讀中必須回答的問題。第三步則是讓學生進行intensive reading, 讓學生們跟著課文錄音大聲朗讀一遍課文,然后選詞填空完成這篇文章的概括。Choose the right words to finish sentences by working in groups with books closed. 前面這兩部分扎扎實實的教學步驟,大大降低了學生對這篇文章理解的難度,因此學生們在第三步的知識能力運用檢測中,很快完成了我設置的選詞填空練習,從而圓滿完成了Unit 2 的閱讀教學任務。
