沃爾沃加入歐洲企業社會責任協會
歐洲企業社會責任協會歡迎沃爾沃成為最新成員。自20世紀70年代,沃爾沃集團即在環境方面減少產品和生產過程對環境的不利影響。2003年,集團董事會簽署了一份依據聯合國全球契約的規定,涉及經濟、環境和社會原則的生產守則,目前這些原則在集團整體貫徹。
B2B的可持續營銷在巴黎舉行(倫敦)

可口可樂公司宣布將替代其飲料產品和生產過程中使用的水資源
可口可樂公司將行動集中于三方面:減少生產飲料時的用水;飲料生產過程耗水的循環使用;補充社區和自然界的水資源。可口可樂公司是在6月5日在北京召開的世界野生動物基金會的年會上做出上述宣布的,同時在此活動上,可口可樂公司還宣布了一項與世界野生動物基金會合作,將長期進行的淡水資源保護和保存項目。

Volvo AB Joins CSR Europe
CSR Europe welcomes Volvo AB as the newest member of the network. Volvo Group has been working with environmental issues since 1970s, with focus on reducing the negative environmental impact from both product and production. In 2003, Volvo Group’s Board of Directors adopted a Code of Conduct containing economic, environmental and social principles based on the Global Compact guidelines. The principles are now being implemented throughout the Group.
B2B Sustainable Marketing in Paris
The next meeting of CSR Europe’s B2B working group on sustainable marketing will take place on 1 June in Paris. Some key questions this group aims to address are: How to involve marketers in CSR? What are the obstacles? For more information, please contact Ann Vandenhende (av@csreurope.org).
Contact Group on EU Sustainable Development Strategy
On 5 June, a roundtable debate will take place as a kick off meeting of the EUSDS group. The purpose is double: 1) to establish a Contact Group to get to know each other better and explore where companies could be better served and initiatives scaled up through cooperation between these organisations, 2) to cooperate on an open contribution to the European Strategy on Sustainable Development. “Rhetoric and Realities --Corporate Social Responsibility in Europe” in Brussels
A conference entitled “Rhetoric and Realities --Corporate Social Responsibility in Europe: Discussion of cutting edge results of a recent EU project on the sustainability impacts of CSR” will take place on 27 June in Brussels. The conference will present and debate the results of a three year research study funded by the European Union that has examined whether Corporate Social Responsibility can lead to genuine impacts on society and the environment or whether CSR is merely rhetorical presentation. “Corporate Responsibility 2007” in Vienna
On 3-4 July, a Senior Executive Business Summit on Corporate Social Responsibility organised by the European Networking Group will take place in Vienna, Austria.The conference entitled “People, planet, profits: aligning your CSR strategy with corporate performance goals”. The speaker list includes CSR Europe Board members Lothar Meinzer from BASF, Elena Bonfiglioli from Microsoft, Roger Vercammen from Sony Europe, and Stefan Crets from Toyota Motor Europe. Toyota Motor Europe hosted a Stakeholder Dialogue on Road Safety on 26 April in Brussels. Toyota Motor Europe prepared a report summarizing policy recommendations and best practice examples shared by the conference participants.
Microsoft and Clinton Foundation Help Cities to Monitor Carbon Emissions
The Clinton Foundation and Microsoft Corp. announced a long-term partnership to develop a suite of technology tools that will enable cities to monitor, compare and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The software tools to be developed by Microsoft.
Unilever Strengthens its Global Commitment to Responsible Marketing
As from May 2007, Unilever adopts a global guideline that will stop the future use of size zero models or actors in its advertising. Unilever will also restrict its marketing and advertising to children between 6 to 11 years of age to the healthier foods and beverage products in its portfolio.
The Coca-Cola Company Pledges to Replace the Water it Uses in its Beverages and Their Production
The Coca-Cola will focus its actions in three core areas: 1) reducing the water used to produce its beverages, 2) recycling water used for beverage manufacturing processes, and 3) replenishing water in communities and nature. The pledge was announced on 5 June at the annual meeting of WWF in Beijing, where the Company launched a multi-year partnership with WWF to conserve and protect freshwater resources.

非洲學校將要實現數字化

Fortis參加聯合國開發計劃署減排項目

英國采取行動實施產品碳標簽行動
根據Telegraph,英國環境、食品和鄉村事務部已經聯合政府顧問公司Carbon Trust共同推動在英國市場出售的所有商品使用碳標簽。計劃的目的是揭示每一個產品“碳計算值”,即從一袋西紅柿到一輛轎車,計算產品在生產過程中有關溫室氣體的排放量。
兩大不含酒精飲料生產商宣布結束動物實驗

African Schools Go Digital
Following a successful pilot project, the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) is ready to launch its “electronic schools” initiative in schools throughout Africa. The project will be implemented in 600,000 schools over the next decade and aims to provide wider educational opportunities while reducing the “digital gap”between rich and poor. International technology corporations Smart Technologies Inc., Hewlett-Packard Company, Nokia Corp. and Microsoft Corp. will support NEPAD by donating equipment and expertise.
Fortis Joins UNDP in Emissions Reduction Project
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has partnered with European financial services company Fortis to finance greenhouse gas reduction projects in developing countries. With the newly-created “MDG Carbon Facility,” the UNDP will assist the governments of developing countries to design projects in compliance with the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) established under the Kyoto Protocol. Once the viability of the various projects is established by the UNDP, Fortis will finance the projects in exchange for carbon credits.The CDM is a market-based instrument intended to help developed countries meet emission reduction goals through the financing of clean energy projects in developing countries.
Unilever to Source Tea Sustainably
European-based consumer goods giant Unilever plc, the world's largest buyer of black tea, plans to begin sourcing its entire tea supply in compliance with Rainforest Alliance (RA) standards of sustainability. This is the first time the RA standards have been applied to tea production.The first RA certified tea will come from an estate in Kenya and be sold to European restaurants and caterers by August 2007, followed by certified Lipton and PG Tips, Unilever's largest selling tea brands, in the consumer market. The company's goal is to have all Lipton Yellow Label and PG Tips tea bags sold in Western Europe certified by 2010, and all Lipton tea sold globally RA certified by 2015.
Nike to Resume Production in Pakistan
Nike has signed a new contract with leather processor Silver Star in Sialkot, Pakistan, to resume making hand-stitched leather soccer balls after child labor concerns led the firm to stop production six months ago. The U.S. sporting goods giant decided to pull out of its commitment with former supplier Saga Sports Ltd., following what a Nike spokesman termed“a fundamental breach of trust”after Saga's management failed to comply with codes of conduct set by Nike.
United Kingdom Takes Step Toward Carbon Labeling of Products
According to the Telegraph, the UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has partnered with government advisory company Carbon Trust to introduce carbon labeling for all products sold in UK stores. Plans have been unveiled for a “carbon calculator”that could calculate the quantity of greenhouse gases emitted by everything from the production of a pack of tomatoes to a car.
Major Soft Drink Companies to Curtail Animal Testing
The Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo Inc. have agreed to stop financing research that uses animals to test their products except when testing is required by law. Coca-Cola also said it would cancel a grant awarded to a researcher at Virginia Commonwealth University to study taste perception in rats.
Finance Community Invests in Climate Change Research
HSBC, Europe's biggest bank, has pledged a donation of $100 million to four charities engaged in research on the impact of climate change on forests, rivers and major cities worldwide. The four groups receiving the funds are The Climate Group, Earthwatch Institute, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and the WWF.
