新編大學英語綜合教程“Risks”單元課堂教學互動模式

課堂小組探討、文本結構分析、總結歸納大意等教學活動，可有效促進大學生英語思辨能力和分析歸納能力的提升。本文以浙大新編大學英語第4冊第8單元“Risks”為例，具體展示幾個課堂互動環節。

一、Group discussion about risks

Directions：The following numbers indicate the relative risks of different means of transportation in the USA.Work in groups to answer the questions using the words given below.

Q：1)Which means of transportation is much safer，planes or cars?

2)Why do most people fear airplane accidents more than car accidents?

A：1)I think airplanes are safer.

2)Although fewer people die in air crash than in car accidents，people feel far less safe in the air than on the ground，maybe because airplane crashes are almost always fatal.If you are in an airplane crash，you will die most probably，but you might not be killed in a car accident.Besides we are still more used to cars than planes.

1.In daily life，what are the three riskiest things you do?

The three riskiest things I do in a normal day are to ride my bicycle in traffic jam，run down stairs and do scientific experiments

In my opinion，they are crossing the road in heavy traffic，drunken driving，and diving.

2.What should we do to deal with risks in ordinary life?

One way to deal with risk in ordinary life is through rational planning.By considering alternatives and balancing the greatest or most likely risks against the greatest or most likely rewards，we can often make better decisions and give greater consideration to long-term outcomes.By always having a contingency plan in case our main plan fails，we can usually avoid catastrophes.But planning takes effort，and we must balance this effort against the pleasure of doing things quickly because they are not very important or not very risky，and plan other things carefully because they are very important or very dangerous.
