How will Artificial Intelligence Change Our Lives in Future

【Abstract】Artificial intelligence has always been at the forefront of computer technology. The theory and discovery of artificial intelligence research will determine the development direction of computer technology to a large extent. Today， there have been a lot of artificial intelligence research results into people’s daily life. In the future， the development of artificial intelligence technology will bring more impact on our life， work and education.

Introduction： Artificial intelligence， abbreviated as AI， also known as machine intelligence. The term was put forward for the first time by Dartmouth in 1956. It is a comprehensive subject of computer science， cybernetics， information theory， neurophysiology， psychology， linguistics and so on. From the perspective of computer application system， artificial intelligence is a science that studies how to make intelligent machines or intelligent systems to simulate the ability of human intelligent activities and it aim to extend people’s intelligence.

1. Relevant Thinking Triggered by Artificial Intelligence

Nowadays， a popular game named Detroit： Become Human has set off a boom of Al again. In this game， artificial intelligence， also called Al， can think and feel just like human being， and players can choose it to be an enemy or a friend to play their games. This game captures our attention and provokes us to think： Is Al a friend or an enemy？ And how will AI change our lives in the future？

2. Different Views on Artificial Intelligence Research

With the popularization and interconnection of various intelligent terminals， in the near future， people will not only live in the real physical space， but also live in a digital and virtual network space. In this cyberspace， the boundary between human and machine will be unprecedentedly weakened. In other words， every individual in cyberspace can be either a human or an artificial intelligence. In addition， in the real physical world， artificial intelligence does not have to be human-like， which makes it possible for artificial intelligence to enter into all aspects of our lives from more angles and assist humans to complete intelligent tasks previously thought to be completed by humans.

2.1 Positive Views

One of the views expresses that AI could be a worthy assistant and housekeeper and could play an important role in our lives. When we are driving， AI could collect traffic information in order to calculate the best route which can save our time as more as possible. Furthermore， it could do our favour at home as well. For example， AI can wake you up in the morning with its beautiful and soft voice and remind you of the weather today while you are enjoying your breakfast. Also， with AI ‘s Big Data system， e-commerce and companies can make statistics more accurate and prevent mistakes. In conclusion， AI could make our lives very convenient.

2.2 Negative Views

However， as the saying goes， “every coin has two sides”， there are potential threats with the development of Al. In recent years， an AI called AlphaGo， has beat the best chess players of human being for many times which reminds us of the uncertainty of AI. On the one hand， people feel anxious about whether AI would build its self-consciousness and eventually conflict with human. Many science fiction movies also explored the ideas that uncontrollable AI would probably harm us. On the other hand， over-reliance on AI to do everything would result in a horrible lazy lifestyle， making us lose our valuable body experiences and sentiment. In this two cases， AI would make our lives rather bad.

Conclusion： All in all， Artificial Intelligence is a controversial topic. Artificial intelligence has made explosive progress in both core technology and typical applications. After experiencing the era of mechanization， electrification and information， human society is moving towards an intelligent society. Artificial intelligence is expected to lead a new round of scientific and technological revolution. Now back to the question， is AI a friend or an enemy？ I would like to say that this double-edged sword is a friend in the hand of an angel and an enemy in the hand of a devil. Although there are lots of uncertainties in the future， it is us who should shoulder huge responsibilities to direct it toward a good way. Therefore， it is necessary for us to take plenty of precautions and form joint efforts to ensure its benefits to human beings.
