這是一本非常有趣且幽默的繪本。講述的是一位老奶奶一個不小心，吞下了一只蒼蠅后所發(fā)生的故事。當(dāng)老奶奶不小心吞了一只蒼蠅后，因為很擔(dān)心蒼蠅會在肚子里動來動去，所以她緊接著又吞下了蜘蛛去捉蒼蠅、吞下了小鳥去捉蜘蛛、吞下了小貓去捉小鳥、吞下了小狗去捉小貓、吞下了奶牛去捉小狗、吞下了馬去捉奶牛。那結(jié)果呢？當(dāng)然是她被撐死啦。

每吞進一只動物，作者都會采用There was an old ladywho swallowed……的重復(fù)句式來表達，而且在講下一個要吞下哪個動物時，作者會在前面用圖畫的方式來暗示。

最后三句肯定是：

She swaIlowed the…to catch the…

Perhaps she。ll die.

That wiggled （扭動著的） and jiggled （移動的）and tickled （使人發(fā)癢的） inside her.

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.

I don't know why she swallowed the fly.

Perhaps she'll die.

Woof. Gone to the by and by （馬上就要離開了）.

Meow. Sigh （嘆氣） .

There was an old lady who swallowed a bird.

How absurd （荒唐） ！ She swallowed a bird.

She swallowed the bird to catch the spider.

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly.

I don't know why she swallowed the fly.

Perhaps she'll die. Moo.

She'll leave us high. Woof. And dry.

There was an old lady who swallowed a cat.

Imagine that （難以想象） ]

She swallowed a cat.

這是一個熱鬧的故事，老婆婆在不小心吞進了一只小蒼蠅后，為了抓住它，就越吃越多，所吞的動物體型也越吃越大，故事仿佛變成了一條食物鏈。該故事的結(jié)構(gòu)循環(huán)往復(fù)，情節(jié)簡單卻不失趣味，語言也極富韻律美，讓人讀著朗朗上口。希望同學(xué)們在享受故事帶來的樂趣的同時，也能讓自己的表達能力、復(fù)述能力有所提升。
