Abstract：Toni Morrison is a famous American author.Home is the latest novel of Toni Morrison，which was republished in 2012.In this paper，through the analysis of the theme of Home，I will discuss the thematic meaning that the author intend to convey.

1 Chapter One：The Introduction of The Novel Home

Toni Morrison is an American novelist.Her novels are known for their epic themes，vivid dialogue，and richly detailed African American characters.Home is the latest novel of Toni Morrison.This short novel tells the story of a returning Korean War veteran，an African-American from Georgia，who realizes that bigotry and racial prejudice still exists，even for those who served country in war.His home-and himself in it-may no longer be as he remembers it，but Frank is shocked out of his crippling apathy by the need to rescue his medically abused younger sister and take her back to the small Georgia town they come from，which hes hated all his life.

2 Chapter Two： The Thematic Meaning of Home

The central idea of the book is the notion of home.When Frank received the news that his sister was critically ill，he decided to rescue his sister.To save his sister，Frank stepped on a journey.During the process that he rescued his sister，he gradually finished his salvation of his soul.In this process，Frank reshaped the black male image，found the lost masculinity.Whats more，with the black communitys care and help，his sister was recovered and get rid of the shackles of slavery.She found herself and earned the body and mind free.The way back home is not only the process of the self-awareness construction，but also the self-identity construction.

3 Chapter Three：Conclusion

In this novel，through the heros journey back home，we can find that it is a process of self-awareness construction and the self-identity construction.It praises the strong and resolute traditional virtues of the blacks.
