比較等級使用特別須知

分析：上面的三道中考題均是考查同學們對比較等級用法的掌握情況，答案分別是：1.A；2.C；3.B。下面我們就比較等級使用中應注意的地方作一探討，供同學們學習時參考。

一、在使用最高級時，注意表示范圍的介詞of或in的選用

of后面跟可數名詞復數或all等代詞時，主語和of后面的名詞屬于同一類人或物。in后面跟表示組織、單位、團體之類的集體名詞時，主語和in后面的名詞屬于不同類別。例如：

Tom is the youngest of the three boys. 湯姆是三個男孩當中年齡最小的。

Tom is the youngest boy in our class. 湯姆是我們班里年齡最小的男孩。

二、注意比較級前面修飾語的使用

very, quite, so, too只能修飾形容詞、副詞的原級，比較級前的修飾語可以用表示程度的much, a lot, far, a little, a bit, even, still等修飾。例如：

He is a little (much) taller than I. 他比我個子高一點兒（多了）。

I have many more books than you. 我的書比你的多得多。（注：many只可放在修飾可數名詞的比較級前。）

三、注意連詞than和as后面主格代詞和賓格代詞的選用

如果主句中的謂語動詞是及物動詞，兩個主語相比時用主格代詞，兩個賓語相比較時用賓格代詞。例如：

I know you better than (I know) him. 你和他兩個人相比，我還是更了解你。

如果謂語是不及物動詞，或雖是及物動詞，但不會引起歧義，則主格代詞和賓格代詞都可以用。例如：

Helen jumps faster than he/ him. 海倫跳得比他遠。

四、注意than后面other或else的使用

在含有比較等級的句子中，有時因為相比較的主語或賓語不能與自身相比，而要把相比較的主語或賓語排除在外。此時常借助other或else來表示這種排除。例如：

Tom is taller than any other boy in the class.（=Tom is taller than any of the other boys in the class.)

湯姆比班里其他男孩都高(湯姆是班上個子最高的男孩。)（湯姆也在這個班里）。

They laugh at me just because Im shorter than anyone else in the class. 我是班上個子最矮的一個， 他們為此而嘲笑我。

五、注意比較結構中的of the two

在含有比較級的句子中，如果of the two表示比較范圍，此時，比較級前要用定冠詞the。例如：

The purse is the more beautiful of the two. 這個錢包是兩個中較漂亮的一個。

This dictionary is the better of the two. 兩本詞典中，這本比較好一些。

六、注意兩個比較對象的一致性

在使用比較級時， 比較的雙方必須是同一類人或物，非同類的事物是不能進行比較的。例如：

他的鋼筆比我的便宜。

誤：His pen is cheaper than I.

正：His pen is cheaper than mine.

析：his pen只能與my pen相比較，這里的 mine = my pen。

冬季，北京的天氣比上海冷。

誤：The weather in Beijing is colder than in Shanghai in winter.

正：The weather in Beijing is colder than that in Shanghai in winter.

析：介詞短語做定語時，被比較的對象不能省略。為了避免重復，常用that或those來代替前面出現的名詞。

七、注意最高級前面the的使用

1.形容詞最高級作表語，放在系動詞后面，成為謂語的一部分，用于同一人或同一事物的比較時，形容詞的最高級前面不加the。例如：

The supermarket is busiest on Sundays. 這家超市周日最忙。

The children are happiest on Saturdays. 孩子們在周六最快樂。

2．形容詞最高級前面有物主代詞、名詞所有格或指示代詞等限定詞修飾時，不用加定冠詞the。例如：

Collecting stamps is my latest hobby. 集郵是我最近的愛好。

Those tallest boys in our class, please stand at the back.我們班個子最高的那些男同學，請站在后面吧。

八、注意“比較級 + and + 比較級”的使用

“比較級 + and + 比較級”或“more and more + （多音節詞的）原級”結構表示“越來越……”。例如：

The snow is thicker and thicker. 雪越積越厚。

Nanchang is becoming more and more beautiful. 南昌變得越來越漂亮了。

九、注意 “the + 比較級，the +比較級” 結構的使用

“the ＋ 比較級，the ＋ 比較級”結構表示“越……就越……”。例如：

The harder you work, the more you will learn. 你越努力學習，學到的東西就越多。

The higher the tree, the stronger the wind. 樹越高，風越大。

十、注意倍數的表達法

兩者相比，表示一個是另一個的多少倍時，可用“...times + more + 名詞（可數，不可數）+ than...”結構，表示“……比……多少倍”。例如：

He earns five times more money than he did ten years ago.他現在掙的錢比十年前多五倍。

There are twice more students in our class than in theirs. 我們班的學生數比他們班多兩倍。
