英語聽力教學存在的問題及對策分析

Abstract:Listening plays a very essential part in college English teaching,while for many kinds of factors,teaching effect in colleges is not always so good. The essay aims at digging the problems of listening teaching and proposing feasible strategies and measures of listening teaching to promote the improvement of listening teaching.

Key words:listening teaching;teaching strategies;problems

1 Introduction

Listening teaching is commonly set by most of universities,influenced by traditional teaching model and examoriented education system,the effect of LT was always in bad condition,therefore,how to create LT model and promote the level of LT will be very urgent to be solved.

2 Problems and Strategies

The poor condition of LT may result from many different perspectives; the writer will analyze the problem from the following five parts:

(1)Students Problems:Students changing from highschool to university don’t have the habit of listening,with the amounts of acceleration of listening speed and accumulation of vocabularies in university,it will be hard for them to adapt to listening teaching,directly leading to the lost of confidence.

(2)Deficiency of Sense of Listening:Poor pronunciation,poor grammar knowledge,lacking of vocabulary and background culture information are great obstacles for their sense of listening. They can’t fully understand the true information and meaning of listening materials for lacking enough information mentioned above.

(3)Traditional Teaching Model:Most teachers are still addicted to the “teachercentered” teaching model,they ask students make notes while listening,and seldom make communications with students,influencing students’ initiatives and enthusiasm.

3 The following five strategies will be illustrated to improve the students’ listening

(1)Teaching method should be “studentscentered” to make a harmonious learning atmosphere and help students regain their learning interests and confidence.

(2)Intensifying students’ general knowledge of English and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude.

(3)Creating new teaching model to make teachers and students have better communication with each other by “studentscentered”

(4)Choosing abundant listening materials to stimulate students desire for knowledge

4 Conclusion

In this essay,we discussed the reasons and problems of students poor listening,and we also have proposed some good strategies to improve students listening level by changing the traditional way of listening teaching,and it’s easy to say this kind of research will be surely helpful for students listening level and can also help teachers change their way of teaching to make a good balance between teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.
