英語中，“處理”不同的對象有不同的表示方法，你都學會了嗎?

do with

do with側重指“對物品的處理、利用”。在特殊疑問句中，用疑問詞what提問。

例1I’ve just bought a new flat. I’m going to do with the old one. 我剛買了一套新房，我正打算處理那套舊房。

例2What shall we do with the leftovers? 我們要怎么處理這些剩菜?

例3The boys didn’t know what to do with themselves after school ended. 男孩們不知道放學后該做些什么。

do with還有“容忍、將就、湊合”的意思。

例4They can’t do with such a fellow. 他們無法容忍這樣的家伙。

例5 If we can’t afford beef， we have to do with pork. 如果我們買不起牛肉，豬肉也行。

deal with

deal with與do with意義相近，側重指“處理某個問題”。在特殊疑問句中，用疑問詞how提問。

例6We should deal with every case on its merits. 我們應根據實際情況處理各種問題。

例7Deal with a man as he deals with you. 以其人之道， 還治其人之身。

例8I don’t know how they deal with the problem.(=I don’t know what they do with the problem.) 我不知道他們如何處理這個問題。

deal with還有“交易、做買賣”“論述、涉及”的意思。

例9We have dealt with that firm for many years. 我們與那家公司有多年生意往來。

例10This book deals with life in the United States. 這本書講的是美國的生活情況。

get rid of

get rid of也有“處理”的意思，但它的意義與do with， deal with不同，側重表示“消滅或清除某個事物”“擺脫某人、某事或某種情況”;在表示“戒除某個習慣”的時候也用get rid of。

例11How to get rid of these things is a big problem. 如何清除這些東西是個大問題。

例12You’re not getting rid of me that easily. 要擺脫我可沒這么容易。

例13I wish I could get rid of this cold; it’s been hanging about for two or three days now. 我希望能擺脫這場感冒，它已經困擾我兩三天了。

例14How to get rid of smoking， drinking and other bad habits?怎樣才能戒掉吸煙、酗酒等壞習慣?
