there be結構是初中英語中一個比較重要的句型。使用時要注意以下幾種情況：

1.“There be+主語+地點(時間)”表示“某處有……”，there是引導詞，無詞義，be是謂語動詞，主語位于be之后。如主語是單數，be動詞用is;如果是復數，be動詞用are。如:

There is a book on the desk. 書桌上有一本書。

There are some students in the playground. 操場上有一些學生。

2.There be 結構中，若主語是不可數名詞，則謂語動詞用is。如：

There is some water in the glass. 玻璃杯中有一些水。

Is there any milk in the bottle? 瓶子中有牛奶嗎？

3.There be結構中，如主語不止一個，謂語動詞的形式則根據第一個主語確定。在英語中這叫“就近原則”。如：

There is a pen and two books on the desk.

書桌上有一支鋼筆和兩本書。

There are two pens and a pencil in the pencil-box.

文具盒中有兩支鋼筆和一支鉛筆。

用be的適當形式填空

④There ____ a big tree and some flowers in the picture.

4.There be 結構的否定式，是在be之后加not。

There is not an American boy in our class.

我們班上沒有一個美國男孩。

5.There be結構的一般疑問句是將be動詞提到句首。如：

——Is there a car in front of the house? 房子前面有一輛小汽車嗎？

——Yes, there is. 是的，有一輛。

——Are there any birds in the tree? 樹上有一些鳥嗎？

——No, there arent. 不，沒有。

6. 如果對there be結構中的主語進行提問，則用What+be+there+時間(地點)？如：

There is a book on the desk.→

What is there on the desk?

7.如果對there be結構中主語的定語進行提問，則往往用how many(much)+主語+be+there+時間(地點)?如：

(1)There are seven days in a week.→

How many days are there in a week?

(2)There is a little juice in the bottle.→

How much juice is there in the bottle?

8.there be與have的區(qū)別:

(1)have表“所屬”關系的“有”；there be指某處“有”。如：

This man has a brother in Beijing. 此人有個弟弟在北京。

There are many books on the desk. 桌子上有很多書。

The desk has four legs. 書桌有四條腿。

There are many people in the room. 房間里有很多人。

(2)在have含“所有”的意義較弱的情況下，可與there be互換。如：

We have much rain this year.=There is much rain this year.

今年下了不少雨。

There is a map on the wall.=We have a map on the wall.

墻上有張地圖。

The wall has a hole in it. =Theres a hole in the wall. 墻上有個洞。

A year has 365 days.=There are 365 days in a year. 一年有365天。
