慶祝中墨建交50周年友城重慶燈光秀友誼深情

At 19：00 on February 14th， the phrase “50 a?os de amistad entre México y China” （“Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Mexico”） in both Chinese and Spanish were shown on Chongqing Grand Theater and Chongqing World Financial Center （WFC）. The screens on the exterior walls of Chongqing Grand Theater and ten surrounding buildings were lit up with green， white， and red lights， the main colors of the Mexican national flag， together with scrolling images of traditional Mexican elements. The light show was a grand celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico， which expressed sincere wishes for the two countries to foster even closer friendship and greater cooperation.

Chongqing and the state of Nuevo León， Mexico established a sisterhood in 2013. In 2021， Chongqing Fengdu County and the Mexican city of Guanajuato became sister cities. On the same evening， as an international sister city of Guanajuato， Guanajuato State， Mexico， Fengdu County also participated in the celebration event， conveying its profound friendship with Guanajuato by lighting up the county government buildings and commercial streets.

China and Mexico established diplomatic relations on February 14， 1972 and a strategic partnership in 2003， which was upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2013. For 50 years， under the strategic leadership of the heads of state from both sides， China-Mexico relations have developed comprehensively， with growing political trust and strong cooperation in various fields. The cooperation between the two countries amid the COVID-19 pandemic fully reflects the close partnership of the two which is represented by a genuine friendship with a shared future.

In recent years， China and Mexico have deepened friendly exchanges and local government cooperation， in which sister city/province/state relations have become a major focus to promote bilateral relations. They help bring tangible benefits for the peoples derived from the friendship of the two countries， enhance pragmatic bidirectional cooperation in fields including economic and trade， culture， and tourism， and promote the in-depth development of national relations.

2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico. To exhibit this friendship， the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries （CPAFFC） and the Mexican Embassy in China jointly organized this “Sister City Light Show” celebration event. Over 10 pairs of sister cities/provinces/states with active bilateral exchanges from China and Mexico participated and lit up their landmark buildings for one hour at the same time on the day of the anniversary. The light show in Chongqing was organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Government.

In recent years， Chongqing and Mexico have witnessed continuous progress in trade and economy， manufacturing， culture， and education， said Wang Wen， Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Government. It is hoped that after COVID-19， more Chongqing citizens can visit Mexico to experience the local culture and taste authentic tequila. Vice versa， Chongqing wishes to welcome more Mexican friends to try the Chongqing hot pot and feel the charm of this three-dimensional mountain city.

In 2021， Chongqing and Mexico registered RMB14.05 billion in foreign trade， an increase of 6.1%. At present， a number of Mexican companies were set up in Chongqing. After the outbreak of COVID-19， Chongqing has donated medical supplies to Mexico to help with epidemic prevention and control.

2月14日19時，“慶祝中國與墨西哥建交50周年”的中文和西班牙語字幕在重慶大劇院和重慶環球金融中心的外墻點亮。重慶大劇院外墻及周圍樓宇十屏聯動，亮起墨西哥國旗主色調的綠、白、紅三色燈光，配合具有墨西哥國家傳統元素的圖案滾動播放，熱烈慶祝中墨建交50周年，祝愿兩國友誼更加深厚，合作廣結碩果。

重慶與墨西哥新萊昂州于2013年建立友城關系;2021年，豐都縣與瓜納華托市締結友城關系。當晚，重慶市豐都縣作為墨西哥瓜納華托州瓜納華托市的國際友好城市，也參與了此次慶祝活動，通過點亮縣政府大樓及商業街等地的燈光，傳遞與瓜納華托的深情厚誼。

1972年2月14日，中國與墨西哥建交，2003年兩國建立戰略伙伴關系，2013年提升為全面戰略伙伴關系。50年來，在兩國元首戰略引領下，中墨關系全面發展，政治互信不斷加強，各領域合作勢頭強勁。兩國在抗擊新冠肺炎疫情方面開展了良好合作，充分體現了兩國患難與共的真摯友誼和命運與共的合作關系。

近年來，中墨兩國民間友好交流和地方政府合作日益深化。其中，友好城市（省州）成為促進兩國關系發展的重要抓手，將兩國友好關系轉化為惠及人民的重要載體，增進了雙方在經貿、文化、旅游等領域務實合作，助推了國家關系深入發展。

今年適逢中墨建交50周年，為體現兩國友城之間的友好情誼，中國人民對外友好協會和墨西哥駐華大使館共同組織發起此次“友城亮燈儀式”慶祝活動，中墨雙方交往活躍的十余對友好城市（省州）參與其中，于建交日當天同一時刻點亮地標建筑以示慶祝，亮燈持續1小時。重慶的燈光秀活動由市政府外辦承辦。

市政府外辦主任王雯表示，近年來，重慶與墨西哥在經貿、制造業、文化教育等領域的交流與合作不斷加強。希望新冠肺炎疫情過后，有更多的重慶市民去墨西哥親身體驗當地的風土人情，品嘗地道的龍舌蘭酒。也希望有更多的墨西哥朋友來重慶，嘗嘗重慶火鍋，體驗這座立體山城的魅力。

據悉，重慶與墨西哥2021年進出口貿易額達140.5億元，增長6.1%。目前，墨西哥在渝設立多家外商投資企業。新冠肺炎疫情爆發后，重慶市還向墨西哥捐贈了防疫物資，馳援抗疫工作。
