Research on the Application of Tooling elements in modern Clothing Design

【Abstrac】In today's fashion industry，tooling elements are more and more applied by designers，and the expression forms of tooling elements emerge in endless fashion shows，which sets off a new tooling trend. This paper takes different types of tooling as the main research object，through in-depth analysis of various tooling elements，summarizes the application characteristics of tooling elements such as modeling，fabric，color and accessories，and explores the innovative design application of tooling elements in modern clothing design.

1.Research Background

With the development of The Times，workwear style clothing has changed into People's Daily clothing，work wear，and even in all kinds of occasions，workwear style clothing from the masses to the public. Nowadays，tooling elements are rapidly extending to the trend of single products in the fashion circle，favored by fashion designers，and frequently appear in the major fashion shows. Therefore，the innovative application of tooling elements in modern clothing design should continue to explore and explore.

2. Expression form of tooling elements

The application of tooling elements has different connotations and characteristics. Through consulting and sorting out data on the expression forms of various tooling elements in clothing，design elements such as style，fabric，color and accessories can be analyzed and summarized according to the classification of design elements in clothing.

2.1Analysis of tooling style modeling elements

From a macro point of view，cargo pants，cargo vest，cargo jacket，suspenders，cargo bags and other classic cargo styles are typical symbol of cargo elements. In order to have a more comprehensive understanding of tooling styles and functions，the following tooling styles and their corresponding functions are mainly studied in combination with modern tooling fashion trends：

（1）tooling

In modelling，it is mainly straight tube，wide trousers leg profile，there will be double layer fabric reinforcement in knee and hip.The pocket on the pants has folds to increase its capacity.The pants are designed on knees and hips to allow bending with bright sewing thread to enhance durability. A garment with two or more pockets，usually three-dimensional pockets，to increase its capacity.In the choice of fabrics，denim，denim，canvas，synthetic fiber and boutique Oxford are generally used.

（2）Work jacket

The prototype of the work jacket was derived from the men's suit. The original work jacket had a single pocket design，which evolved into the four-pocket style now common. In the shape，it is mainly h-shaped outline，and the collar type is a small lapel with a lead seat. There is a flip or non-flip pocket on the left and right sides of the garment body. There are adjustable buttons or Velcro on the front and cuff for windproof or convenient to roll up the sleeve when working.In terms of modeling，there can mainly fold the collar，leading seat，the first buckle of the flap is close to the neck nest，two or more pockets design，and the cuff has slit design.

（3）Work shirts

The two pockets on the chest of the work shirt are the most classic symbol of the work shirt. According to different types of work，there are different pocket designs，which can be added or cancelled，and the cuff has the right to god keff，which is convenient to roll up the sleeves when working.Denim，flannel，youth and so on are the most commonly used fabrics for work shirts.

（4）Cargo bags

Cargo bags are designed to solve the problem of insufficient pocket capacity on clothing. Because it is easy to carry and large capacity，it occupies an important position in the bag category. The improved cargo bag can be combined with waistcoat，coat，suspenders，belts，etc. for easy wearing. In design modelling respect，have different design in the light of different use purpose，be like portable portable type，double shoulder type，diagonal type，capacity is big and practical strong.

2.2 Analysis of tooling color elements

In terms of color elements，khaki，black，military green and navy blue are particularly classic and common in tooling style. This kind of color is composed and versatile，without high saturation，and very practical in collocation. It can balance all kinds of additional attributes of other colors，and is also in line with the style of tooling，taking into account practical functions and fashion aesthetic design.

2.3 Element analysis of tooling parts

Tooling accessory elements generally refer to functional accessories，such as fasteners，Velcro，buckle，elastic rope and other common accessories，which can be adjusted or disassembled according to need to realize the combination with tooling bags or other clothing parts.
