Ando

Abstract：Tadao Ando is famous for the delicacy of fair faced concrete. The architectural features can be summarized by simple and clean space language，which reflects the architectural concept of "original beauty". Through the interpretation of Ando's works，we can understand that the simplicity of Ando's architecture is not monotonous，and through his solution of how to use nature more delicately for architecture，it provides us with a place worth learning to solve similar problems.

1 exquisite fair faced concrete design position

Tadao Ando's "fair faced concrete" architecture retains the original texture of concrete and directly presents the real face of building materials. Ando's architectural language is not innovative，for example，the Zen philosophy of Japan;Corbusier's square box and flat roof;Wright's space rotation and zigzag entrance;and the "plain concrete" of barbarism. After his integration，he formed his own unique architectural language to express his views and pursuit of modern architecture.

2 Analysis of Tadao Ando's works

Living in Ji's long house is Ando's first famous work. Ando uses fair faced concrete to cast the two-story building into a square box shape，isolating the surrounding noise from the wall. One third of the space in the middle of the long house is taken out as a natural courtyard，and the natural elements such as wind，rain，light and sound are introduced into the interior of the building. The light from the sky falls on the smooth concrete wall，leaving the shadow of time and becoming a vivid element in the building. Fair faced concrete combines man，architecture and nature in a simple and simple way，which is also the embodiment of Zen thought in a certain extent.

The solid and thick fair faced concrete around the "Church of light" is absolutely enclosed，which makes people feel isolated from the outside world instantly，and the sunlight comes out from the horizontal and vertical staggered openings of the wall，sacred and shocking. In the Church of light，Ando manipulates natural light to make it flexible on plain walls and spaces，presenting a sense of mystery. This kind of ability to deal with sacred space is similar to the Langxiang church designed by kobussier，which Ando worships.

Conclusion

Fair faced concrete seems to be the symbol language of Ando's works，but it is not just cold fair faced concrete. From "the long house of living auspicious" to "the Church of light"，Antang's treatment of light is actually a kind of sublimation，which transforms the functional use of nature into the artificially treated nature，adds the decoration，symbolism and organicity endowed by nature，improves people's understanding of the relationship between architecture and nature，and also makes such design simple，generous and thought-provoking
