The narrator in the song was once submit and listen to someone else who was stronger than her and let her down and deny her ability. Now she set her spirit free and shouted and cried out

In the time period which Edna lived， the law and tradition gave very few opportunities for women to express individually. Let alone to say independence and freedom for women. They are expected to obey the society standard and care for the health and happiness for their family. The lyric said ”I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath. Her second husband tries to purchase and control her and prevent her from talking. He want her to submit to him. But at last she finally stand up before he died. “You held me down， but I got up. Holden was a sixteen years old boy who was excluded from and victimized by the world around him. And he is still finding his way in a world with he feels he doesn’t belong which is the adult world the harsh world. Throughout the book Holden resist himself from connection ， people are phony mean and he donut like. But he also suffered from the loneliness .The song lyric say “The words are coming out all weird. Am I really sinking this low. My baby got the bends oh no，we don’t have any 9real friend， oh no.” Holden think people around him is phony， snobbish and mean. He don’t have any real friend. The only person he like is her sister Phoeby and a girl name Jane. They are all simple genuine and intelligent person. ”I wanna live breath I wanna be a part most of his pain. People are social animal， they spend their whole life searching for connection with others， or else they can hardly live. The problem with Holden is that he can not have good beginning of song” Where do we go from here？” Holden is lost in the cross road of his life. He is cynic with angry. It’s the winter， the hard time in his life. And he don’t know what is going to happen. Can he be independent， will he die. He is lost. I also found another song call season in the sun. It’s song that in memory of the past. Holden miss his brother who was dead. He is in search for the lost time somehow. ”Goodbye papa please pray for me， I am the black sheep of the family” ”Little children everywhere. Think of me and I will be there.”

The protagonist of this tragedy is blanche， who experience the downfall of family， witnesses her loving husband and her parent’s death was a excluded from her hometown Belle Reve because of her indecent behavior. She went to her sister in New Orlean for shelter. ”I’ve seen the world， done it all， at my cake now .””Hot summer night， mid July， when you and I were forever wild” ”It’s like Blanche’s memory of good time with Alan who is her adorable husband.
