When I grow up， what shall I be？

A sailor sailing on the sea？

Or shall I be a soldier bold1，

And always do as I am told？

A pilot flying in the sea？

Above the clouds away up high？

A postman who delivers mail？

A fisherman who braves each gale2？

Perhaps a farmer on the land？

To be a fireman would be grand.

Or shall I drive a speedy train，

Or shall I be an astronaut，

In sun and snow and wind and rain？

Or shall I be an astronaut，

High up there in space？

Or a brilliant teacher，

Of the human race3？

So many things I'd like to be！

To choose is very hard you see.

I must choose one from all the rest，

And I will choose the very best.
