Chongqing High-speed Rails Have Radiated into All Directions， Which Further Shortens the Distance Between Chongqing and the Rest of the World

After much longing and anticipation， Chongqing-Guizhou Railway has come， while Chongqingxi Railway Station and Shapingba Railway Station have been put into use， which has further shortened the distance between Chongqing and the rest of the world.

On January 25， Chongqing-Guizhou Railway， Chongqingxi Railway Station and Shapingba Railway Station have been put into use on the same day. Chongqing has opened its first high-speed railway line to Guiyang， Kunming and Guangzhou， etc. for the first time. The time that one from Chongqing to the above three places on land was shortened to 2 hours， 5 hours and 7 hours respectively. The total length of Chongqing-Guizhou Railway opened at this time is 345.4 kilometers， which is not conspicuous among Chinas high-speed railways with mileage of over 20，000 kilometers. The designed speed of 200 km per hour is only considered as “normal” among the Chinese high-speed railway families that once set a number of “top ones” in the world concerning the speed per hour. However， the Chongqing-Guizhou Railway which seems ordinary in terms of mileage and the designed speed， has actually filled the gap of Chongqings high-speed railway in the “southward” direction and enabled Chongqings high-speed railway network to really radiate southward.

Chongqing is very familiar with high-speed rail： in 2015， Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed rail was officially opened， which meant that Chongqing officially entered the era of high-speed rail. That has laid the most important transportation base for Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle； in the same year， Chongqing-Wuhan high-speed rail was opened， and Chongqing high-speed rail has officially stepped out of Kuiwu， successfully connected with the high-speed rail network in the eastern part of the country and gone directly to the Yangtze River Delta. That “the journey to and from Jiangling with thousands of miles only takes one day” was no longer referred to the poets romantic feelings but the real life of the ordinary people. In December 2017， Chongqing high-speed rail has traveled across Bashan， Qinling and successfully connected with Xian， the central city in the northwest China. However， there is still no Chongqing high-speed rail leading to Guizhou， Yunnan， Guangdong and Guangxi and the Pearl River Delta region.

According to the Chongqing Medium and Long-Term Railway Network Planning （abbreviated to the Planning） published in 2017， it is found that the composition of Chongqing High Speed Rail is like the Chinese character “米”. The Chinese character “米” can be split into two crossings of “十”. The horizontal stroke of foundation “十” is undoubtedly referred to the Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed rail and Chongqing-Wuhan high-speed rail， while the Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway is the first half of the vertical stroke， and the Chongqing-Guizhou Railway officially opened January 25 just happens to be the last part of this vertical stroke. The Chongqing-Guiyang high-speed rail is connected with Guiyang-Kunming， Guiyang-Guilin-Guangzhou high-speed rail and many other high-speed rail lines， which has successfully extended Chongqing high-speed rail into the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Pearl River Delta region.

The end of the high-speed rail is the ocean

Among the high-speed rail lines opened on January 25， the high-speed rail lines from Chongqing to Kunming and Chongqing to Guangzhou are of particular concern. This is because rich results， such as the China Railway Express， a “grand passage” based on the railway network， have been witnessed after Chongqing has been promoting the construction of opening up grand passage to the outside world for many years. The maritime wharf， especially the important port with the potential of sea-rail combined transportation capacity has become an accelerator for Chongqing to play the role of “grand passage”. The end of the Chongqing- Kunming high-speed rail and Chongqing-Guangzhou high-speed rail is just the vast ocean.

Starting from Kunming in Yunnan Province， a huge high-speed railway network called “Trans-Asian Railway” is being implemented step by step. Starting from Kunming， China， a number of railway lines will pass through Vietnam， Cambodia， Myanmar， Thailand and Malaysia， form the east， central and west major international railway lines in China and eventually reach the important international shipping center in Singapore.

In December 2015， the groundbreaking ceremony was held on the Kunming（China）- Vientiane （Laos） railway， the Laos section. As of the end of October 2017， 207 projects of the Sino-Lao Railway have been started and the construction of the whole railway is scheduled to be completed and put into use by the end of December 2021. In December 2017， the much-anticipated Sino-Thai railway cooperation project was officially started in Pak Chong， Nakhon Ratchasima Province in the northeast Thailand， which is the first standard high-speed railway in Thailand. Bangkok， which is 40 km from the Gulf of Thailand in the Chao Phraya River Delta， is an important transportation hub. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony， Barkey， Prime Minister of Thai has stressed that this railway is in line with the “Belt and Road Initiative”， which will bring more opportunities to the development of the countries along the route. He has said on many occasions that the Sino-Thailand Railway is the beginning of linking China and Thailand and will connect Thailand to the world in the near future.

On the 1，039 km coastline of the Pearl River Delta， which is more familiar with Chongqing people， the port cluster of the Pearl River Delta with Hong Kong as the core and Guangzhou and Shenzhen ports as its hub has already emerged. The running time of Chongqing-Guangzhou high-speed railway is only 7 hours， which leaves unlimited reverie to people.
