Abstract： walk in space such as outdoor street， square， everyone have their own environmental experience， this article will from the road scales， shop， and steps to design three aspects to illustrate their influence and the role of human walking behavior. Discuss how outdoor road space can bring a better walking experience.

According to the survey， the goal of outdoor walking is to "arrive". According to wu's multivariate statistical analysis and evaluation， travel represents travel and walking， which can be divided into three categories. Terminal travel， functional travel and recreational travel. Outdoor terminal walking refers to the most purposeful walk from the starting point to the end of the walk. Once people achieve their goal， they will end this behavior. Function type walking is refers to a particular demand and began walking behavior， but the demand is not very strong， in the process of this kind of walking and tend to be drawn to some kind of outside stimulus or and turned to other behavior patterns， or change the original behavior purpose on foot， or change the psychological demand.

The scale design of the road.

Only 24 percent of people walk more than 500m. Therefore， in the design of outdoor activities space， this characteristic， set the corresponding sitting and leisure seating. Conclusion： on the size of the outdoor road design to use the boundary of the good psychological and winding path， follow the scale of the human body engineering， on the choice of the shop， in a unified design differentiation， using new outdoor road pavement material， the design of the ramp， pay attention to the use requirements of people， meet the requirements of the above points to better play to the value of outdoor space， can enhance the quality of outdoor activities.
