Sitting on Tableau Softwares balance sheet at the end of the first quarter was $715.7 million in cash and equivalents. What to do with it？ The company will almost certainly use part of it to make acquisitions， Chief Financial Officer Tom Walker said. But what kind of deals？ The complementary kind， Walker said. Something that adds to the companys offerings in terms of products or enhancements to Seattle-based Tableaus existing lineup of data visualization software， he said. Tableau isnt interested in a deal that might be outside its expertise and comfort zone.
