Holiday Tips: How to Deal with Travel Stress
Host: Christmas is just days away, which means, if you’re planning to travel this holiday season, you don’t have much time to get organized, if you haven’t already. Nadia Singh spoke to some travel experts, and has some tips on how to lower that holiday travel stress.
Nadia: The main thing I keep hearing is to plan your trips early, and don’t wait until the last minute. Just doing that can significantly help with the stress levels and anxiety.
After you’ve done all the shopping, it’s time to get where you’re going.
Expert A: The holiday season for air travel goes from December 19th until January 4th.
Nadia: During that time, millions will take to the skies.
Expert A: It’s going to be 1)hectic and busy, and you never know what’s gonna happen. Try to get here at least two hours in advance. The night before, see if you can check in online for your flight.
Nadia: People we spoke to know how to avoid the stress of travelling.
Passenger A: Take as little as possible, because you’ve got to 2)lug it around.

Passenger B: So we actually made this 3)reservation last summer, and the flights and everything was done last summer.
Nadia: Good planning also means smooth sailing for those travelling on a bus. In fact, over a million people will catch a holiday ride on the bus this year.
Expert B: Well, more and more people are beginning to see bus travel as their preferred mode of transportation for the holidays, because it’s a safe, convenient and affordable option.
Nadia: All travel can come with headaches, like crowds, lines and slow service, but you can avoid these.
Expert B: Our customers should book their trips early. Get a head start and print your ticket at home. We always recommend that customers bring things that will make them feel comfortable, so maybe a small travel pillow, water that they can bring on board with them.
Nadia: No matter how you get to your final destination, travelling does take a toll, so be prepared for the worst.
Expert A: Drink lots of water. That’s, you know, with it’s so dry on an airplane.
Nadia: And don’t forget to let friends and family know your travel plans in advance.
