This paper introduces the application of IOT technology in the computer room monitoring and asset management in an electric power company, consists of the design of general contracture, hierarchical structure and functions. Target for the effective management of computer room power and environment monitoringing, communication resources and site operation, applying monitoring and communication features of IOT, to make fast and reasonable configuration of communication resources at benefit maximization, support for the informatization and scientification for computer room operational maintenance.

1. Introduction

The regular, enduring and stable operation of network depends on the reliable operation of computer room management. In recent years, the computer room security equipment, environment monitoring system and video monitoring system has been used widely. Applying the computer technology, communication and network technology to form an integrated, networked and concentrated monitoring system will help improve the reliable run operation and normal maintains effective as well as reduce the maintain cost and work strength.

As the IOT technology develops, the application scene gradually expands. The research of computer room monitoring and asset management system based on IOT supplies a powerful guarantee for effective management and safety operation, rich management measures and make a model for future computer center construction.

2. Research Background

2.1.Computer Room Management Status

In general, the traditional management pattern could not adapt the new develop demand of communication room maintain business, there is an urgent demand for the adoption of informatization methods to improve the computer room management level.

2.2. The Advantage of IOT

The IOT technology is applied in resource maintain at site, using sensing technology to get device resource information, ensure the fast, useful and accurately updated at site, and ensure the consistency of data in site and database, and ensure the integrity and accuracy of system. The application of the system will reduce work intensity of data maintain press, improve the work efficiency, make benefit for dispatching and normal resource maintain. By reasonably deploy the communication resource, maximize the profit.

3.Scheme Design

3.1. General Architecture

The system general architecture follows the electric power IOT general architecture, consists of sensing layer, network layer and application layer. The sensing layer consists of RFID, bar code, QR code, RFID and read head, backbone node, intelligent terminal, mobile phone and other devices, all data from devices will be connected to network layer by unified information module through convergence controller; the network layer is based on unified communication protocol, transport the data to the database in application layer through convergence controller and access gateway; the application layer consists of data service and application service, supply for other systems. At the same time, the data could synchronous with basic data, realize the function of computer room environment monitoring, energy consumption monitoring, communication resource management and site operation management module, supply service interface to other system, and integrate business with other system.

3.2.Sensing Layer Construction

Sensing layer construction consists of device identification, online monitoring device installation, safe and standard access of monitoring data.

Sensing layer devices include:

RFID: Make RFID identification to cabinet, server, power, cable and other devices.

RFID head: Read and write RFID tag.

Bar code and QR code: identify single cable or optical fiber.

Terminal device: special mobile terminal or mobile phone, support RFID and bar code scan, support Wi-Fi access, support information online query at site, support operation guide and record at site.

4.Function Realization

4.1.Environment online monitoring of Computer Room

By the deployment of massive environment sensors, the temperature, humidity, water logging status in computer room will be monitored online. The functions consists of information gathering, data storage, data display and data query.

4.2.Energy online monitoring of Computer Room

By the deployment of massive energy sensors, the energy consumption of lighting, air condition, power distribution system in computer room will be monitored online, and go a step further, it can supply energy economic consumption scheme by background calculation. The functions are similar to environment online monitoring.

4.3.Resources management

Identify the devices in computer room by RFID or bar code, synchronous the information in station database with data in TMS to convenient site works to distinguish and operate devices. The main functions consists of intelligent device identify, device resource information library and device resource management.

4.4.Site operation management

Combined with TMS operation management module, provide standard operation guide and operation record for site operator. The main functions consists of device information query and site work management.

4.5.Overall show

By scanning the computer room space with laser light, generate 3D module of the room and devices, and then showed by visualization interface. By the 3D visualization platform, users can query the space position, information and current operating status of the device in computer room, like servers, cabinets.

5.Summary

This paper researches the application of IOT in the electric communication operation and maintains, establish the modules of computer room online monitor, energy consumption online monitor, communication device resource online management and site work operation management modules, to achieve the effective management and control. By fast and reasonable configuration of resources, maximum the benefit and improve the informatization and scientification of communication management.
