Americans usually would browse6 in stores on Thanksgiving and then, on thefollowing Monday, would look for the online products7 they had seen in brick-andmortar8stores. They would buy them at discounted prices online.
While this shopping holiday started in the United States, it has since becomepopular in the world. Now it is celebrated not only in North America but also inAsia, the Middle East, South America, Australia, and Europe.
It is believed that more people like to shop online on Cyber Monday because itis much cheaper and more convenient9 than shopping on Black Friday.
Cyber Monday is not a public holiday, so all businesses are open on this dayand most people go to work as usual. Some people who are looking for bargains10 onCyber Monday and have to work that day do shopping online. They usually use theInternet in their office. So it is easy for them to lose their jobs if they get caught.
