Different Weather Makes People Feel Different

It is well known that the weather is constantly changing. Different weather makes people feel different. In August， it is very hot and wet in the southern part of China. People there have heart trouble and other kinds of health problems in this month. In the northern part of China， it is very hot and dry. People have more heart trouble after the weather changes greatly.

The weather can also influence intelligence. For example， the IQs（智商） of a group of students were very high when a very strong wind came， but after the strong wind， their IQs were 10% lower. The wind can help people have higher intelligence. Very hot weather， on the other hand， can make it lower. Students often get worse results on exams in the hot months of the year， especially in July and August.

Weather also has a strong influence on people’s feelings. Winter may be a bad time for thin people. They usually feel cold in these months. They might feel unhappy in cold weather. But fat people may have a hard time in hot summer. At about 18℃ people become stronger.

Low air pressure may make people forgetful. People leave more bags on buses and in shops on low?air?pressure days. There is a “good weather” for intelligence and health. People feel best at a temperature of about 18℃.

1. constantly

adv. 不斷地；經(jīng)常地

2. lower

adj. 低的；下級(jí)的；下層的。

3. influence

n. 影響；有影響的人 / 事物，常見(jiàn)的搭配有三個(gè)：

①have an influence on 對(duì)…… 有影響。如，The book had a great influence on my thinking.這本書(shū)對(duì)我的思想產(chǎn)生了很大的影響。

注意：在have ...influence on這個(gè)短語(yǔ)中，influence之前還可以有g(shù)reat， large， big，no， little， small等形容詞修飾。如，Parents’ behaviours have great influence on their children， because kids often model after them. 父母的行為對(duì)孩子有很大的影響，因?yàn)楹⒆咏?jīng)常模仿父母。

The group has little influence on those outside its own ranks. 這個(gè)團(tuán)體對(duì)非成員沒(méi)什么影響力。

② under the influence of 在…… 的 影響下。如，He begins writing under the influence of his friend， Robert Frost. 他在朋友羅伯特·弗羅斯特的影響下開(kāi)始寫(xiě)作。

③be a bad / good influence on sb. 對(duì)某人是個(gè)壞的 / 好的影響。如，He is a good influence on my daughter. 他對(duì)我女兒有很好的影響。

v.影響；支配

influence sb. to do影響某人做某事。influence后面直接跟的是不定式，表示對(duì)某人的行為產(chǎn)生影響。如，The advertisement influenced me to buy this product.這個(gè)廣告影響了我，讓我買(mǎi)了這個(gè)產(chǎn)品。
