The Beauty of My Hometown—Hongyadong

洪崖洞原名洪崖門，是古重慶城門之一。2003 年洪崖洞片區進行舊城拆遷改造，現建筑面積4.6 萬平方米，共有11 層，是重慶市重點景觀工程。夜晚降臨，燈光璀璨，宛若仙子臨江眺望。在這里，可望吊腳群樓觀洪崖滴翠，逛山城老街賞巴渝文化，燙山城火鍋看兩江匯流，品天下美食。2020 年11 月18 日，洪崖洞被列入“成渝十大文旅新地標”。2021 年12 月，洪崖洞被列入“重慶市第二批歷史地名保護名錄”。

Which tourist site in Chongqing is the most well-known to a tourist? Which building is the most romantic with ancient architecture? Which building is like a palace shining beautifully at night? It must be Hongyadong.Yes, it is Hongyadong, located in the downtown(市中心的) Chongqing.

Visitors are astonished(驚訝的) by its very special construction(建筑) feature with a history of about 2300 years.In the past, it was one of the ancient gates of this city.It was built along the mountain with one side of the house resting on rocks while the other three sides supported by wooden or bamboo poles(柱子).

Hongyadong is not world-known until 2018 when the architecture coincidentally went viral( 走紅) on TikTok because it looks like the building in the animationSpirited Away(《千與千尋》).When night falls, all the lights are turned on and it is like a shining fairy always overlooking the Jialing River.

What you are visiting is a newly built one with 11 floors.In 2003, a total of 385 million yuan was invested in the reconstruction( 改造) of the Hongyadong area.It covers an area of 46000 square meters.It has become a AAAA tourist attraction, which combines functions of sightseeing, tourism, and leisure( 休 閑).Inside the architecture,there are a variety of shops, restaurants,tea houses, and even a hotel, allowing visitors to immerse( 沉浸) themselves in the local culture and delicious food.During holidays, there are many activities here, such as food shows and folk wedding ceremony shows(民俗婚禮展), attracting many visitors from home and abroad.

On November 18, 2020, Hongyadong was included in the Top Ten New Cultural Tourism Landmarks in Chengdu and Chongqing.In December 2021, it was included in the Second Batch of Historical Geographical Names Protection List of Chongqing.
