Xinjiang is located in the northwest of China， covering about one-sixth of China’s total area. Its cultural heritage （遺產）， colorful customs and attractive natural sceneries， make it one of China’s leading tourist places.

● Beautiful lakes Xinjiang is well-known for amazingly beautiful lakes， including the Karakul Lake， the Tianchi Lake and the Kanas Lake. Snow-covered mountains surround the water and make it look like a shining diamond （鉆石） in their arms. In spring and summer， the color of the water changes along with the weather， so many tourists go there and want to see them with their own eyes.

● Delicious food Xinjiang is an excellent place to try new food. Breakfast here includes melons， jam and milk tea while lunch is often served with flour-based food featuring beef and mutton. Dinner usually includes tea， noodles or Nang， which is the main food for local people， having a history of about 2000 years.

● Various products Xinjiang specialties include cotton， mutton， beef and various （多樣的） fruits. Besides， it has the richest mineral （礦產） resources in China—more than 80 percent of all minerals in the country. Nephrite （軟玉） is one of China’s top five famous jades （玉） and most of it is found in Hetian， Xinjiang.

●Happy people Local people， both young and old， are good at singing and dancing， and the folk dance of Kashgar （喀什） is a treasure of Chinese dance art， so Kashgar in Xinjiang is also known as “the home of song and dance”. All the songs and dance movements show the daily life there.
