Study on the effectiveness and safety of applying sevoflurane and propofol in shoulder arthroscopy in the beach chair position

[Abstract] Objective To study the efficacy and safety of stellate ganglion obstruction combined with sevoflurane and propofol in shoulder arthroscopy in the beach chair position. Methods 80 patients who underwent shoulder arthroscopy in the beach chair position in our hospital from July 2018 to December 2019 were selected，including 44 males and 36 females.The patients were divided into the propofol group，sevoflurane group，with 40 cases in each group.The propofol group was given propofol micro pump administration.The sevoflurane group was given sevoflurane to induce anesthesia.The mean arterial pressure （MAP），heart rate，the activity of daily living （ADL） scale，VAS score，extubation time，postoperative wake-up time，analgesic effects，and incidence of adverse reactions were calculated. Results The levels of MAP and heart rate during T1，T2，and T3 in the sevoflurane group were lower than those in the propofol group，with statistical differences （P<0.05）.After the operation，the ADL score of the sevoflurane group was higher than that of the propofol group，and the VAS score of the sevoflurane group was lower than that of the propofol group，and the difference was statistically significant （P<0.05）.The extubation time，postoperative wake-up time in the sevoflurane group were lower than those in the propofol group，with statistical differences （P<0.05）.The excellent and good rate of analgesia in the sevoflurane group was higher than that in the propofol group，and the difference was statisticaaly significant （P<0.05）.The incidence of adverse reactions in the sevoflurane group was lower than that in the propofol group，with statistical differences （P<0.05）. Conclusion Sevoflurane combined with stellate ganglion block has a significant analgesic effect on patients undergoing shoulder arthroscopy in the beach chair position，which reduces the pain of the patient，helps the patient to wake up，and has a low incidence of adverse reactions.It is worthy of clinical promotion.
