such與so表示“如此”“這樣”的意思，出現的頻率極高。你會正確使用such與so嗎？今天我們就來學一學。

一、such的主要結構：

1. such+a/an+adj.+可數名詞單數

如：I have never watched such an exciting match.

我從來沒有看過這么令人激動的比賽。

2. such+adj.+可數名詞復數

如：She walked in with such beautiful flowers in her hands.

她雙手拿著如此美麗的花走進來了。

3. such+adj.+不可數名詞

如：We have to stay at home in such hot weather.

天氣這么熱，我們不得不待在家里。

有時候，上述結構中不出現形容詞。

如：They do not have enough money for such an operation.

他們沒有足夠的錢做這樣的手術。

二、so的主要結構：

1. so+adj./adv.

如：Your school is so beautiful.

你們的學校如此漂亮。

He always does his homework so carefully.

他做作業總是這么認真。

2. so+adj.+a/an+可數名詞單數

如：My cousin Tom is so strong a boy.

我的表弟湯姆是如此強壯的一個男孩。

3. so+many/few+可數名詞復數

如：Betty is very excited to see so many presents on her desk.

貝蒂看到桌上這么多的禮物，非常激動。

4. so+much/little+不可數名詞

這里little的意思是“少量的”。

如：Tony is unhappy because there is so little milk in the bottle.

因為瓶子里的牛奶太少了，托尼不開心。

此外，little如果譯為“小的”意思，不可以用于此結構，要用such來修飾。

如：Look！ The lion is chasing such little deer.

看！這頭獅子正在追捕這么小的鹿。

三、so， such常與that從句連用，譯為“如此……以致于……”。

如：Nick is so generous that everyone likes him.

尼克如此的慷慨大方以致于每個人都喜歡他。
