一座致力于中波交流的“橋”

初次聽(tīng)說(shuō)波蘭奧波萊工業(yè)大學(xué)校長(zhǎng)馬瑞克·圖堅(jiān)道夫（Marek Tukiendorf）先生，是通過(guò)一張他的中文名片。沒(méi)想到很有緣分，不久后的2015年冬天，我們?cè)谏虾Ｒ?jiàn)面了。他高出我一頭，英俊、睿智。那天，他與重慶交通大學(xué)唐伯明校長(zhǎng)、波蘭理工聯(lián)盟主席一起出席研討合作會(huì)，特地邀請(qǐng)我們來(lái)年參加波蘭主辦的名為“Bridge（橋）”的國(guó)際會(huì)議。

2016年3月，重慶交通大學(xué)作為中國(guó)代表應(yīng)邀赴波蘭參會(huì)，我作為校方代表有幸參與。當(dāng)時(shí)，圖堅(jiān)道夫憑借他的影響力和號(hào)召力，邀請(qǐng)到波蘭主管科教的副總理、奧波萊市政府及波蘭理工聯(lián)盟高校的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)參會(huì)，還有鄰近的德國(guó)州政府和知名公司（如博世企業(yè)）等嘉賓。

我校代表團(tuán)一行還應(yīng)邀做客奧波萊工業(yè)大學(xué)孔子學(xué)院，清茶、國(guó)畫(huà)、中式家具，中國(guó)范兒十足。孔子學(xué)院姜慧娟院長(zhǎng)說(shuō)，這都得益于圖堅(jiān)道夫校長(zhǎng)的支持，以及他對(duì)中國(guó)文化的熱愛(ài)。那次會(huì)議給人留下的印象，除了主題為“橋”，會(huì)議本身就是連接3個(gè)國(guó)家政府、大學(xué)、企業(yè)的“橋”。圖堅(jiān)道夫先生自己正是這座“橋”。

波蘭是較早響應(yīng)中國(guó)提出“一帶一路”倡議的國(guó)家，我校代表團(tuán)此訪的重要任務(wù)，就是與圖堅(jiān)道夫先生一起推動(dòng)高校以及地方之間的交流。他特地帶我們到奧波萊市總督辦公室，將相關(guān)情況向正副總督報(bào)告，并親自給我們引薦波蘭多所高校及孔子學(xué)院。

2017年，奧波萊工業(yè)大學(xué)與重慶交通大學(xué)聯(lián)合波蘭和重慶各7所高校共同舉辦“新絲綢之路互聯(lián)互通國(guó)際學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議”，主題是“貿(mào)易合作與便利化、歐亞人文交流、歐亞交通物流”。來(lái)自波蘭、西班牙、英國(guó)、日本和中國(guó)的政府官員、專家學(xué)者約160余人齊聚重慶交通大學(xué)。該活動(dòng)成為我校當(dāng)時(shí)舉辦的規(guī)模最大、最成功的國(guó)際會(huì)議。

在這次會(huì)議上，成立了以重慶交通大學(xué)與波蘭奧波萊工業(yè)大學(xué)牽頭的中波新絲綢之路國(guó)際聯(lián)合中心。以這個(gè)聯(lián)合中心為基礎(chǔ)，我們成功申報(bào)了國(guó)家教育部的國(guó)別與區(qū)域研究基地—?dú)W洲研究中心。現(xiàn)在這個(gè)中心已成為我校研究、聯(lián)系中東歐的重要力量。我和丁楠老師共同設(shè)計(jì)的聯(lián)合中心LOGO，形似駱駝身軀又似飄動(dòng)的絲綢，圖堅(jiān)道夫先生很喜歡。后來(lái)我們每次見(jiàn)面，他總是佩戴著這枚LOGO的徽章，因?yàn)橹胁ê献魇撬臓繏臁?/p>

我們幾乎每年都有一次會(huì)面，商談致力于學(xué)術(shù)等方面有更多的合作。2016年在昆明舉行的全球孔子學(xué)院大會(huì)上，圖堅(jiān)道夫先生、北京工業(yè)大學(xué)柳貢慧校長(zhǎng)和我，探討成立中波高校聯(lián)盟，旨在波蘭建設(shè)更多的孔子課堂、舉辦藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)大賽，大家一拍即合。

圖堅(jiān)道夫先生雷厲風(fēng)行，回國(guó)后立即落實(shí)，得到9所波蘭大學(xué)的積極響應(yīng)，他親自帶著這些大學(xué)的校長(zhǎng)和有結(jié)對(duì)意愿的中方學(xué)校領(lǐng)導(dǎo)來(lái)到國(guó)家漢辦陳述愿望。要知道在同一個(gè)國(guó)家一下子開(kāi)辦這么多的孔子課堂是沒(méi)有先例的，國(guó)家漢辦領(lǐng)導(dǎo)十分感動(dòng)。

2017年3月21日，在重慶交通大學(xué)、北京工業(yè)大學(xué)和波蘭奧波萊工業(yè)大學(xué)共同倡議下，中波兩國(guó)之間最大的高校聯(lián)盟—“一帶一路”中波大學(xué)聯(lián)盟正式在北京成立，23所中國(guó)和波蘭的高校成為聯(lián)盟的創(chuàng)始成員，重慶交通大學(xué)唐伯明校長(zhǎng)、北京工業(yè)大學(xué)柳貢慧校長(zhǎng)和波蘭奧波萊工業(yè)大學(xué)圖堅(jiān)道夫校長(zhǎng)當(dāng)選聯(lián)盟首屆輪值主席。圖堅(jiān)道夫校長(zhǎng)矢志不渝推動(dòng)的中波高校之間的友誼之橋、合作之橋變得更加堅(jiān)固。

圖堅(jiān)道夫先生對(duì)工作盡心盡責(zé)，每年的全球孔子學(xué)院大會(huì)，都會(huì)看到他神采奕奕的身影。2016年，他被評(píng)為全球孔子學(xué)院先進(jìn)個(gè)人，時(shí)任中國(guó)國(guó)務(wù)院副總理劉延?xùn)|親自為他頒獎(jiǎng)。

2018年全球孔子學(xué)院大會(huì)在成都舉行，我們又一次相聚了，圖堅(jiān)道夫先生的身板依舊硬朗，笑容仍然燦爛。臨別時(shí)，我們相約下一次再見(jiàn)。

可是，不幸的意外發(fā)生了。2019年7月25日，微信傳來(lái)一條消息—圖堅(jiān)道夫先生離世的噩耗。這讓我頓時(shí)手足無(wú)措，痛惜中波兩國(guó)失去了一位致力于友好交往的好朋友，一座跨越萬(wàn)里的友誼之橋。

但是，圖堅(jiān)道夫先生仿佛從未離開(kāi)我們，在我校的中波新絲綢之路國(guó)際聯(lián)合中心、歐洲研究中心，在波蘭的各所孔子課堂，他的精神永遠(yuǎn)激勵(lì)著我們?yōu)橹胁ㄓ颜x不懈努力！

The first time that I heard of Mr. Marek Tukiendorf， rector of the Opole University of Technology in Poland was via his business card in Chinese. Out of serendipity， in the winter of 2015， we met in Shanghai. Much taller than me， he was handsome and witty. At that day， he attended the cooperation seminar together with president Tang Boming of Chongqing Jiaotong University and chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities of Technology， and specially invited us to participate in the international conference called "Bridge" hosted by Poland in the upcoming year.

In March 2016， Chongqing Jiaotong University was invited to Poland as a representative of China. I was honored to participate as a representative of the University. At that time， Mr. Tukiendorf， with his clout and voice， invited the deputy prime minister in charge of science and higher education in Poland， the municipal government of Opole and the leaders of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities of Technology， as well as guests from the neighboring state governments and well-known companies in Germany （such as Bosch） ，etc.

Our delegation was also invited to visit Confucius Institute at Opole University of Technology， where elements with strong Chinese characteristics， such as tea， traditional Chinese painting and Chinese style furniture abound. Jiang Huijuan， Chinese director of the Confucius Institute said that all of these were resulted from Mr. Tukiendorf s handworks and his love for Chinese culture. The conference， apart from the theme of "bridge"， was a "bridge" connecting governments， universities and enterprises of these three countries. Mr. Tukiendorf himself also served as the "bridge".

Poland was the country that responded to China's Belt and Road Initiative quite earlier. The important task of our delegation was to work with Mr. Tukiendorf to promote exchanges between universities and local governments. He specially took us to the governors office of Opole， reported the relevant situation to the governor and vice governor， and personally introduced us to many Polish universities and Confucius Institutes.

In 2017， Opole University of Technology and Chongqing Jiaotong University jointly organized the “International Academic Conference on the New Silk Road Interconnectivity” attended by seven universities respectively in Poland and Chongqing under the theme of “Trade Cooperation and Facilitation， Eurasian Cultural Exchanges， Eurasian Transportation Logistics". More than 160 government officials， experts and scholars from Poland， Spain， Britain， Japan and China gathered at Chongqing Jiaotong University， making it the largest and most successful international conference our university had ever held.

During the conference， the Sino-Poland New Silk Road International Joint Center spearheaded by Chongqing Jiaotong University and Opole University of Technology in Poland was established. Based on this joint center， we had successfully applied for the National and Regional Research Base of the Ministry of Education - Center for European Studies. Now this center has become a major force for our university to research and connect with Central and Eastern Europe. Ms. Ding Nan and I jointly designed the LOGO of the Joint Center， a waving silk resembling a camel's body， which Mr. Tukiendorf was very fond of. And then every time we met， he always wore this LOGO badge， as he always held the cooperation between China and Poland dear.

We had a meeting almost every year to discuss further cooperation in academic and other fileds. At the Global Confucius Institute Conference held in Kunming in 2016， Mr. Tukiendorf， president Liu Gonghui of Beijing University of Technology and I discussed the establishment of the Sino-Polish University Consortium， aiming to build more Confucius Classrooms in Poland and hold art design competitions. We all hit it off.

Mr. Tukiendorf was exceptionally vigorous in implementing this plan immediately after returning home and received positive responses from 9 Polish universities. He personally brought rectors of these universities and leaders of Chinese universities who were willing to pair up to Hanban （Confucius Institute Headquarters） to state their wishes. There was， however， no precedent for opening so many Confucius Classrooms in the same country. The leaders of Hanban were very moved.

On March 21， 2017， under the joint initiative of Chongqing Jiaotong University， Beijing University of Technology and Opole University of Technology， the largest university alliance between China and Poland， the Sino-Polish University Consortium under the Belt and Road Initiative was formally established in Beijing. Twenty-three Chinese and Polish universities have become founding members of the alliance. President Tang Boming of Chongqing Jiaotong University， President Liu Gonghui of Beijing University of Technology and president Tudendorf of Opole University of Technology were elected as the first rotating chairman of the alliance. The bridge of friendship and cooperation between Chinese and Polish Universities became wider and wider.

Mr. Tukiendorf was dedicated to his work. Every year at the Global Confucius Institute Conference， his active presence was always seen. In 2016， he was presented the Confucius Institute Individual Performance Excellence Award by Liu Yandong， vice premier of the State Council of China at that time.

The Global Confucius Institute Conference in 2018 held in Chengdu brought us together again. Mr. Tukiendorf was still the tough guy with a bright smile. Just before parting， we agreed to see each other next time.

An unfortunate accident， however， happened. On July 25， 2019， I got a piece of sad news from WeChat that Mr. Tukiendorf had passed away. Suddenly I sank into deep grief， regretting the loss of a good friend who was committed to friendly exchanges between China and Poland and a bridge of friendship that spanned thousands of miles.

However， it seems that Mr. Tukiendorf never leaves us. His spirit will always inspire us to make unremitting efforts for the friendship between China and Poland at the Sino-Poland New Silk Road International Joint Research Center and Center for European Research in our University， and the Confucius Classrooms everywhere in Poland！
