rain ?n. ?雨水（通常作不可數名詞）

rainy是rain的形容詞形式，意為“陰雨的;多雨的”。

大部分表示自然現象的詞都可以通過在名詞詞尾加-y變為形容詞。如：

2. Hows the weather in Beijing？

北京的天氣怎么樣？

Hows the weather...？是用來詢問天氣狀況的常用句型，相當于Whats the weather like...？ 在句末可以加上“介詞 + 地點/時間”等短語。

weather ?n.“天氣”。其前面不能用不定冠詞a修飾，但可以用定冠詞the或形容詞bad/fine等修飾;通常可以用it來指代。

The weather is rainy in spring in the south of China.

在中國的南方，春天是多雨的。

3. Sounds like youre having a good time.

聽起來你玩得好開心。

（1）sound like ?聽起來像

That sounds like a good idea.

那聽起來像是個好主意。

（2）have a great/good/nice time = enjoy oneself = have fun 玩得開心，過得愉快

They are having a great time.

= They are enjoying themselves.

= They are having fun.

他們玩得很開心。

4. Can I take a message for him？

要我給他捎個話嗎？

當接電話的人發現對方要找的人不在時，常用此句。message ?n.“消息;信息;口信”，既可以是口頭的，也可以是書面的。

take a message for sb ?為某人捎個口信

leave a message ?留口信

（1）could ?modal v.“能，可以”，表示請求許可，在語氣上比can委婉、客氣。

tell sb not to do sth ?告訴某人不要做某事

（3）back ?adv. ?回來;回原處

call sb back ?給某人回個電話

cook sb sth = cook sth for sb ?給某人做……（飯、食物）

（1）常見的詢問天氣狀況的句型有：Hows the weather？ / Whats the weather like？ 這兩個句型后面都可以加“in + 地點”，用以詢問“某地天氣如何”。

（2）回答詢問天氣狀況的問句時，通常用“Its + 表示天氣的形容詞”，也可以用現在進行時進行回答。常見的表示天氣的形容詞有：fine，dry，warm，cold，cool，hot，rainy，snowy，sunny，cloudy等。

（1）hard ?adv. ?努力地，辛苦地

（2）hard ?adv.“猛烈地，重重地”。既可以修飾下雨、下雪，也可以修飾刮風。當修飾下雨、下雪時相當于heavily;當修飾刮風時相當于strongly。

4. My family and I are on a vacation in the mountains.

（1）on （a） vacation意為“在度假”，go on a vacation意為“去度假”。

（2）句中and連接兩個并列主語，謂語動詞用復數;但當and連接的并列主語是同一個人、事物或概念時，謂語動詞用單數。

Zhang Tao and I are both students.

張濤和我都是學生。

在陳述句后加一個簡短的問句，用來對陳述部分內容進行確認，稱為反意疑問句。本句是一個反意疑問句，表示提出看法，問對方同意與否。

反意疑問句由兩部分組成：前面的陳述句如果是肯定的，后面的附加疑問句就要用否定形式，即“前肯后否”;前面的陳述句如果是否定的，后面的附加疑問句就要用肯定形式，即“前否后肯”。后面的附加疑問句與前面的陳述句的主語和謂語在人稱、時態和數上均保持一致。
