Study on Moral Belief Education of Contemporary College Students

Abstract: Moral belief refers to selfawareness that pursuit of higher moral values,which based on people's recognition and observance of the existing moral rule of society. Under the background of contemporary globalization, there has a strong collision between foreign culture and local traditional culture. The multi-culturalism confused young college students' moral belief , and some negative culture shaked the moral belief of college students or even lack when they constructing the system of moral belief. It has great significance that through research the importance and content of moral belief education of contemporary college students, which can help college students establishing and completing moral belief, training fine moral personality , and reconcile individual and social development more harmoniously.

1 Introduction

With the opening and development of market economy, cultural exchanges are becoming frequently that the young college students are easily influenced by erroneous social ethos during shaping moral belief. The occurrence of college students' moral misconduct among contemporary social is warning that society and schools must put great emphasis on the moral belief education for college students. Moral belief is one part of ideological construction, it plays an important role in the behavior of college students and social life. College students are an important group for maintaining social stability and building the country. It is necessary that guide young college students to build moral belief.

2 Theoretical Basis

2.1 Concept

Morality refers to a kind of rule about actions and thoughts that was created by heart of mercy and the course of people's interaction with people. In a narrow sense, faith refers to the respect and conviction of a certain religiosity or a certain figure by people, and regard it as guide or criterion to action. Broadly speaking, faith is people's conviction about life and origin,existence, nature, meaning of society or even universe. In summary, faith is a self-awareness with highest value , exist in people's lives chronically and widely, that is dynamic to breakthrough self while people explore and found the problem in practice.

Combining the concept of morality and belief,the concept of moral belief can study from three aspects. Firstly, Moral belief is the individual's recognition about the existing social moral rule.There has different social moral rule in different times, in new era, the moral thought and action of citizen was restricted by the socialist core values,so patriotic, honest, dedicated and friendly is the inherent pursuit of moral value in contemporary society that demand people to be firm stably.Secondly, moral belief guides moral practice.Faith is the guide and motivation for individual action that from real life but beyond real life,can encourage people to pursue their ideal moral life. Moral belief comes from the process of moral practice that can guides moral behavior of people,which is the external demand of moral belief.Finally, there has dialectical relationship between moral consciousness and moral practice, moral belief is the reflection and transcendence the existing moral consciousness of individual or social, to evaluate moral thought objectively is the key. Moral consciousness is the reflection of moral practice,only through repeated moral practice that can find the problem of moral consciousness can break through self, and constantly pursue higher moral value in the process of continuous practice. From what has been discuss above, moral belief refers to selfawareness that pursuit of higher moral values,which based on people's recognition and observance of the existing moral rule of society.

2.2 Education Significance

Firstly, moral belief education guides college students to establish correct moral values and make correct moral choices. In the face of moral conflict, the moral values of individuals are the important basis of moral judgment. Moral belief is the recognition of existing moral rule, moral rule help for college student establish correct moral values and make correct choices when they deal with moral contradictions.

Secondly, moral belief education is conducive to shape college students' moral personality and fulfill moral obligations consciously. On the one hand, moral belief can balance the distance between ideal and reality. In real life, college students will encounter things that violate their own ethics, leads to subversion of the moral values that have been formed. It is benefit for college student know the impact of own moral behavior on others and society more clear so that can restrain themselves with the right ethics and look at wrong moral behavior with a critical eye. It is beneficial to further enhance the moral literacy of college students and better shape their moral personality.On the other hand, analyzing the concept of moral,morality is not only the inner firmness of moral rule, but also should transformed into external behavior of moral rule in social life. Moral belief is the belief that based on morality and the selfconsciousness of pursuing the highest moral value.Moral behavior is the external performance that individual pursuit the highest moral value goal driven by moral belief. Moral belief education for college students can help them establishing correct moral consciousness and pursuing the highest value goal of "goodness".

Thirdly, moral belief education is contribute to form well atmosphere of social morality.College students are the backbone for constructive efforts toward the country's development. The Marxism and The Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is the guiding idea of moral belief education, combining the current situation of social development, cultivating college students set up the social morality consensus so that can building correct ethics based on socialist moral concepts and take consideration of national interests and social stability while they behaves.In the process of moral belief education, college students should be cognizant of current situation social moral development and their own moral development, in order to foster perfect moral personality and improve the moral level of the whole society through constant adjustment. Socialist core values is core content of Moral belief,which is conducive to forming a fine atmosphere of social morality and promoting the construction and development of socialist morality. Socialist core values through the consensus of moral values,gathers strength, sets up correct moral awareness and the ideal goal of morality.

3 Educational Content

The faith education of college students is practical activity that according to college students' characteristics of ideology and behavior,fit in with the needs of the society, in order to encourage college students to comply with moral norms and transcend themselves to pursue the highest moral value consciously. It's content has epochal character , constantly adjust according to the social development and college students constantly changing of moral ideology and other objective conditions in the present situation. In particular,the content of college students' faith education includes three aspects as follow.

First, to guide college students moral behavior based on the rule of morality. Moral rule are determined with the relations of production, good and evil is the evaluation criteria of moral behavior,people's beliefs, public opinion and traditional habits keep its stable existing for a long time,which is the sum of the principles of communication and the moral rule to adjust the relationship between people and society in the process of social production. College students' faith education should take traditional moral culture as the starting point, study and implement the moral rule deeply.Taking scientific Marxism as the guiding ideology and fully implement The Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Collectivism is one principle of Moral Education, love the motherland and society is the basic requirement of it, should work hard to the spirit of patriotism,unity, trustworthiness, dedication. The spirit of patriotism, unity, trustworthiness, dedication should assimilated into the moral education of college students, leading college student to participate in moral practice learning activities,correcting the wrong consciousness of college students to separate theory from actual life.Make full use of the revolutionary anniversary to commemorate the ceremony to trumpet the national spirit, inspire the patriotic feelings of college students, helps college students understanding the relationship between individual, society and the state reasonably so that they can consciously abide by the moral rule in the process of engaging in social production activities and people-to-people communication.

Second, the core values of socialism is important content of college students' moral education, establish the correct moral consciousness of college students with core values of socialism.The core values of socialism are advanced ideology and embody a concentrated reflection of socialist ideology, which embodies the combination of Marxist scientific values with the needs of the times and promoting social development. It plays an increasingly important role in nation, social and personal living, provides a weather vane for the construction of social morality. The core values of socialism are include multifaceted ethical requirements, from individuals, countries, families to society. The core values of socialism not only help college student to establish the correct moral awareness, but also provides ethical standards and direction of moral value for them to regulating ethical behavior. The core values of socialism is the core of constructing the moral belief of college students, which reflect the moral consciousness of social consensus.

Third, moral ideal is a major focus of the moral education, can promote the pursuit of the highest moral value for college students. The moral ideal is the product of the development of human civilization, the pursuit of ideal moral personality and ideal moral society formed on the basis of the social current situation. Moral ideal and moral belief are auxiliary to each other,at the same time,there has some distinction between moral ideal and moral belief. Moral belief determines the formation of moral ideal, is the basis of moral ideal, moral ideal is the concrete expression of moral belief, is an achievable goal.The presentation of moral ideals based on real social moral contradictions and social conditions.Nowadays, the common moral ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics as an important content of moral ideal education for college student, which is taking Marxism and The Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, combine the traditional moral culture of China with patriotism,dedication, integrity and friendliness in the core values of socialism. Publicize the spirit of patriotism that is the core of national spirit,enhancing the national consciousness of college students. Regulate college students' moral behavior with national interests as guide, to cultivate moral qualities based on honesty. Enhance the moral education based on friendship, perfect the moral behavior of college students in the course of interpersonal communication, exert the critical eyes of Marxist science on moral problems, and continual to move towards the ideal moral personality and moral society. The moral ideal education of college students, should combine moral belief with practice,transform moral belief to materialization. Do it like this, can promote college students realize the shortcomings of their own moral status quo and break through the shortcomings, deepen the role of moral belief so that college student consciously pursue higher moral value.

4 Conclusion

Human beings are not individuals who exist alone, their essential attributes are social nature.People gradually improves and develops himself in the process of transforming and developing society,which is an activity with certain social relations.

On the one hand, moral rule is the norms of the society people living, adjust the interest relationship between people. moral belief is selfidentification and practice for moral rule, can help individuals have a clear and objective understanding their own impact on social development, promote the harmonious development of individuals and society.On the other hand, moral belief is a reflection judgment on the current situation of morality,include individuals and social, encourage people pursue the highest level of moral values, with the result that improve the moral culture of society and individuals, and form a well atmosphere of social moral.
