（一）The Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn is a very important Chinese festival. It falls on the 15th day of August. A few days before the festival， everyone in the family will help to make the house clean and beautiful. Lanterns will be hung in front of the house.

On the evening there will be a big family dinner. People who work far away from their homes will try to come back for the union. After dinner， people will light the lanterns which are usually red and round. Children will play with their own toy lanterns happily.

At night the moon is usually round and bright. People can enjoy the moon while eating moon-cakes which are the special food for this festival. They can look back on the past and look forward to the future together. It is said that there was a dragon in the sky. The dragon wanted to swallow up the moon. To protect the frighten the dragon away.

（二）The teachersday

It is TeachersDay on September 10th every year. Teachers are the greatest people in the world，I think，because they teach us how to write and read. The most important is that they teach us how to be a real man. They are also kind to everybody and they dont want anyone to fall behind others. They always get on very well with their students，and they are our best friends. When students are in trouble，they can help them in time. I will be a teacher when I grow up.

（三）The Ways of Reading

Pany we keep， for our habit， and character will be as much influenced by the former as by the latter. We may obtain knowledge by reading. The more books we read， the more we accumulate the knowledge. Is it right？ I dont think so. Its not wide reading but useful reading that leads to success. And only good books can benifit us.

So choosing books is very important for reading. Many students spend a lot of time reading legends and swordsman novels. Its a waste of time. Some students even read some bad books and it is harmful for them. So be as careful of the books we read， as of the company we keep， for our habit and character will be as much influenced by the former as by the latter.

（四）The Changes in Our School

Im a student in a middle school. I want to tell you that our school has changed a lot. Our school is much bigger than before. There also is a big garden now. And many trees and flowers are there. We can sit and relax ourselves there.

The playground is much bigger and more beautiful than before. Many boys play football there after school. And many girls play games there. They are very happy.

Now we are in Grade 3， we have to study harder than before. Students do their homework in their free time.I think it is good， but taking some exercise is important， too.

Now our school is more beautiful， we are more polite to our teachers and we like to study very much. I think our school has changed in many ways.

（五）Self-introduction

Introducing yourself is very important when you meet new people. You always want to make a good impression when telling others about yourself. Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Pat and Im from Taiwan. Right now， Im a student. I study very hard every day. I like going to school because Im eager to learn. I enjoy learning English. Its my favorite class. I like to make friends and I get along with everyone. This is the introduction I give whenever I meet new people. It tells people a little bit about me and about what I like to do.
