比較：table和desk的區別

desk和table都表示“桌子”的意思。desk一般而言都是指“辦公桌、書桌、寫字臺”，一般帶有抽屜;table側重于指供吃飯、喝茶、游戲或其他用途的桌子，通常沒有抽屜。table相比desk而言，含義更一般，可視作“桌子”的統稱，而desk的含義則更具體，指“辦公桌、書桌、寫字臺”。如：

There are forty desks and chairs in the classroom.

教室里有四十張桌子和椅子。

Our football is under the table.

我們的足球在桌子底下。

2. Come on， Jack！

杰克，快點兒！

Come on是一句在西方國家幾乎每天都會聽到的口語，但不同的語氣和場合有不同的意思。具體用法如下：

（1）表示請求、鼓勵等，意為“來吧;行啦”。如：

Come on， sing us a song.

來吧，給我們唱首歌。

（2）催促別人快走（做），意為“快點”。如：

Come on， its too late.

快點，太晚了。

（3）表示責備或不耐煩，意為“行啦;夠啦”。如：

Oh， Jane， come on， for goodness sake.

噢，簡，看在老天爺的份上，算了吧。

（4）用于競賽場合鼓勵隊員，意為“加油”。如：

“Come on， Li！” shouted the Class 1 students.

“小李，加油！”一班的學生喊道。

3. —I think its in your grandparents room.

我認為它在你祖父母的房間里。

—Yes， its on their bed！

是的，在他們的床上。

（1）think認為;想;思考。如：

I think her dictionary is on the desk.

我想她的字典在桌子上。

I think he is a teacher.

我認為他是一名老師。

當think后面的句子含有否定意義時，通常形式上否定think，但意義上卻是否定think后面的句子，課文例句如改為否定句，則為：

I dont think its in your grandparents room.

我認為它不在你祖父母的房間里。

I think those books arent his.（誤）

I dont think those books are his.（正）

我認為那些書不是他的。

（2）their是復數第三人稱（they他/它/她們）的所有格形式，是復數形容詞性物主代詞，在句中只可用作定語。如：

This is their school.

這是他們的學校。

They washed their faces.

他們洗了臉。

know的意思是“知道”，是實義動詞。dont是助動詞do的否定形式，本身無實際意義，用來否定實義動詞，還可寫成do not，其第三人稱單數形式為does not或doesnt。若把do放在主語之前，便構成了一般疑問句。如：

I dont know your name.

我不知道你的名字。

They dont know English.

他們不懂英語。

He doesnt know the answer.

他不知道答案。

—Do you know his name？

你知道他的名字嗎？

—Sorry， I dont know.

對不起，我不知道。

Where引導的特殊疑問句

詢問某人或某物在哪個地方，用句型Where + be + 主語（人或物）？

where是疑問副詞，意為“在哪里”，be要隨著后面主語人稱單復數進行變化，單數用is，復數用are。wheres 是where is的縮寫形式，回答時不能用yes或no，而是問什么就答什么。如果主語是人，回答時用人稱代詞主格作主語;如果主語是物，回答時單數用“Its + 表示地點的詞”，復數用“They are + 表示地點的詞”。如：

—Where is your mother？

你的媽媽在哪兒？

—She is in the kitchen.

她在廚房。

—Wheres my baseball？

我的棒球在哪兒？

—Its under the desk.

在桌子底下。

—Where are my English books？

我的英語書在哪兒？

—They are on the chair.

它們在椅子上。

方位介詞on，in，under的用法

表示物體的方位的詞，叫方位介詞。方位介詞in，on，under后面跟名詞或名詞詞組構成介詞短語，不能單獨作句子的成分。具體用法如下：

（1）on 在……上（有接觸面）。如：

on his desk 在他的書桌上 on the floor 在地板上

on the bed 在床上 on the wall 在墻上

on the sofa 在沙發上 on the tree 在樹上

（2）in 在……中，在……內。如：

in the room 在房間里 in the backpack 在背包里

（3）under 在……之下，在……的下面。如：

under the tree 在樹下 under the table 在桌子下

under the bed 在床下 under the car 在車子下

注意：當介詞短語充當表語時，千萬不要忘了be動詞（am，is，are）。

（2）but作連詞，可連接兩個并列成分或兩個并列分句，表示轉折的邏輯關系，意為“但是，然而”。如：

他總是在吃完晚飯后做家庭作業。

always與not構成部分否定，此時always要放在not之后 （而不能在其前）。如：

He doesnt always come late.（正）

He always doesnt come late.（誤）

他并非總是遲到。
