If I were a mayor

I always meet this question that if I were a mayor， what would I do？ I assert that being a mayor means I need to shoulder more responsibilities and I should bring more beneficial things to my citizens. Therefore， I will say something about my plans from three prospective： the environmental protection issue， educational problem and the welfare about the poor people.

If I were a mayor， firstly I would make an improvement on awareness of protecting environment. As we all know， environment is the basic prerequisite for the whole human survival and development problem. The environment provides all kinds of necessary resources and conditions for our daily life. With the development of social economy， environmental issues have been put on the agenda of governments as an unavoidable important issue. Protecting the environment， alleviating environmental pollution and curbing the trend of ecological deterioration have become an important task of government social management. Environmental protection is a basic national policy in our country. It is an important and arduous task for the government to solve the outstanding environmental problems， as well as promoting the coordinated development of economy， society and environment and implementing the sustainable development strategy.

It is widely known to us that nearly every winter the city which has a distance from the ocean will be full of haze. A lot of diseases are triggered by haze such as lung cancer and the disease of blood vessels. Consequently， if I were a mayor， I would like to put the environmental issue into the fundamental place. Promoting the environmental awareness and ability of local governments and enterprises is also an important part of our sustainable development strategy. We should rectify industrial sewage from being thrown into the river. I will formulate some laws and regulations to strictly require polluting factories to set up wastewater treatment ponds and centralize the polluted wastewater. To solve the serious situation of water shortage， I will advocate water conservation and advice people to reduce waste. In addition， in view of the problem of air pollution， I will appeal to the public to take more buses and less private cars. This not only saves fuel， but also protects the atmospheric environment， reduces pollution and makes traffic more smoothly. We also need factories to recycle their own waste gases， so that our city will be more orderly.

Unless the environmental issues have been solved， we will not live in a healthy style of life. I believe we can breathe fresh air and admire a bluer sky.

If I were a mayor， secondly， I would promote economic development. What takes the most significant place of development is education. I will increase education in this modern civilized city， so that citizens can truly live a good atmosphere. Accordingly， the reform of developing is going to be started at this aspect. To add more amusement to studying， students will get involved in a number of activities. Whats more， the teachers will also be selected in order to accomplish many different kinds of teaching and take care of the students who have a variety of characters. Additionally， the educational resources should be distributed equally. There is no doubt that traffic is another tough issue which is important to development. Cleaning citys subway and advertising the advantages of taking public transportation is beneficial to transport efficiently. Also， developing public transport can reduce the output of the greenhouse gases. So that we will live in a healthy environment.

If I were a mayor， what would put in the third place was the welfare of the poor， including their public installation， their house， their income and so on. If I were a mayor， I would spend some times each day investigating the living conditions and needs of the citizens. I would reform the flawed policies so that the citizens could live a happy and healthy life. If I met the poor disabled beggars， I would first investigate if they have the ability to survive and help them from the situation.

With the purpose of making common prosperity come true， I will set down a series of policies which can ensure citizens life and protect their fundamental needs. For their further development， definitely I am going to give out a lot of books. This will certainly help to broaden peoples horizon and enrich their knowledge. On the other aspect， I should build more and more public stadiums in particular. In this way， we can avoid accidents and establish strengths at the same time.

I am not a mayor but a teenager who is just 17 years old. I cant do this and I cant do that， my power is finite and I am so weak that I even cant afford a computer. Nevertheless， what I really want to say is no matter how old you are and no matter what you can do. What affects our city in fact is the determination which you have made or not. To make our city better， we can do the things within easy reach.
