Spain might be the mostlaid-backcountry among the 28 countries in the EU.

在歐盟28個國家中，最慵懶的恐怕非西班牙莫屬。

When strolling in Spain, whether it be ametropolissuch as Barcelona, or an unknown countryside town,it’s common to see local people relaxing all day long.They can be enjoying a cup of coffee,or sipping a glass of wine for hours.It does not seem like anybody is in a hurry to do anything.

漫步西班牙街頭，無論是在大都市巴塞羅那，還是在名不見經傳的鄉村小鎮，你都很容易見到當地人拿著葡萄酒或端著咖啡，一坐就是一整天。似乎沒有人急著去做任何事。

In Spain,the weather is always dry and warm.A glass of wine can easily connect two strangers and inspire a long conversation about anything.Order Spanish tapas,and the country becomes a giant lounge in the evenings.All you need to do is to relax and enjoy life.

However,if you ever want to go have some nice meals or do some sightseeing between 14:30 and 17:30 in Spain,you will be out of luck.Because everyone will be on theirsiesta.

但是，如果在下午2:30到5:30之間你想出門用餐或者觀光，很有可能會吃閉門羹。因為這是西班牙人的午睡時間（siesta）。

And you’d better not to disturb.The friendly Spanish people can get upset if you mess with their siesta time.The warm weather of Spain attracts tourists from all over the world,and because of the warm weather,Spanish people can’t say no to siesta.

你最好不要打擾他們。如果你讓他們的午睡時間弄得一團糟，友好的西班牙人會感到惱火。西班牙氣候溫暖，吸引了來自全世界的游客。正是由于這溫暖的氣候，讓西班牙人對午睡欲罷不能。

Lunch is always the biggest meal for the Spanish,and the afternoons are the hottest time in Spain.The heavy intake of food and the high temperature together contribute to Spanish people’s national afternoondrowsiness,thus the practice of siesta becomes necessary.

對西班牙人來說，午餐是最豐盛的，下午則是一天中最炎熱的時候。飽餐一頓之后，再加上高溫，使得西班牙人一到下午就昏昏欲睡，因此午睡的習慣就變得必不可少。

So,if you decide to take a walk in Spain in the afternoon,you are more likely to step into an empty silent world.Everyone is having their sweet day dreams in their siesta.

所以，如果你決定下午出去走一走，會感覺彷佛走進了一個安靜的世界。每個人都正在享受他們的午睡時光。

No wonder EU residentsjoked that Germans work extra hard so that Spanish can siesta extra hard.

The quiet Spanish afternoons are followed and welcomed by the super active and happy Spanish nights.

難怪有人曾戲言：德國人勤勤勉勉工作，讓西班牙人有了慵懶的資本和理由。

Due to the fact of national nap time siesta

tradition,most of the restaurants in Spain do not offer hot meals until 20:00.As a result,Spanish people have to live on tapas between lunch and dinner,if they ever feel hungry.Tapas are also served after dinner all the way to early mornings too,for fun.

西班牙人一到下午就關門睡覺，這讓西班牙的夜生活變得熱鬧非凡。

Tapas,one of the most famous Spanish traditions,are small plates of dishes.There are all kinds of tapas in Spain. The main ingredients for tapas include: ham, olive, anchovy, shrimp, octopus,pimentos and cheese,etc.They can be served in small plates or simply on top of a piece of bread.

因為午睡的存在，大多數餐廳晚上8點左右才開始供應熱菜。所以從午餐到晚餐這段漫長的時間中，西班牙人主要依靠一碟碟小吃填補轆轆饑腸。小吃一直可以享用到清晨。

Tapas is a relatively new thing in Spain.The word “tapas” didn’t show up in the Spanish dictionary until 1930s.The legend said that,in the region of Andalusia in Spain,to prevent flies or dust falling into the wine or coffee,staff in bars and restaurants would put a small plate on top of the drinks.Later,they started placing small dishes on the plates,such as cheese,olive,or a piece of ham,etc.

餐前小吃存在的時間并不長，而“tapas”這個詞，直到20世紀30年代才被收錄進西班牙語詞典。據說，西班牙安達盧西亞地區的酒館老板們，在為顧客提供酒水、咖啡時，為了防止蒼蠅、灰塵落入飲品中，隨手拿了小碟子裝點小點心，擱在酒杯上。后來，他們開始把裝著奶酪、橄欖或火腿等的小碟子放在餐盤上。

If you ever go to Spain,don’t forget to take a long afternoon nap (siesta)like the locals do,and try all kinds of tapas,to experience the laziness and happiness of the Spanish culture.

如果你去西班牙，不妨像當地人一樣，睡個長長的午覺，品嘗一碟又一碟各不相同的小吃，盡情體會西班牙人的慵懶和熱情。

作為西班牙國粹的小吃，每一碟都比正餐分量小，且花樣繁多。最基本的原料有腌火腿肉、橄欖、鳀魚、鮮蝦、魷魚、小青椒、奶酪等等。它們可以裝在小碟子里，也可以直接放在面包上。
