1 Enjoy 3D Movies Without Glasses

享受裸眼3D電影

You can now enjoy 3D movies on TV without 3D glasses, thanks to a new technology in Germany.

The 3D movies in cinemas are based on two images in two different perspectives[視角], one for each eye. However, autostereoscopic[自由立體的]displays need five to ten views of the same scene. In the future, the number may be even more.

The new technology can convert[轉換]3D content[內容]and enable it to be shown on autostereoscopic displays. Researchers have finished the software that converts the data[數據]. The next step is to put it onto a hardware product, so that it can be integrated[整合]into TV.

However, it will take at least another year before the technology hits store shelves.

現在你不用戴3D眼鏡就可以在電視上觀賞3D電影了，這一切歸功于一項來自德國的新技術。

電影院播放的3D電影是基于給兩只眼睛分別播放不同視角的兩幅影像來達到立體效果的。然而，自由立體顯示需要五到十幅視覺圖來展現同一個場景，未來甚至可能會需要更多的視覺圖。

2 The First Red Nose Day Was Celebrated in China

中國慶祝第一個紅鼻子節

China’s first Red Nose Day was broadcast[播放]via[通過]an online talk show on June 1st.

It attracted an audience of more than 30 million views. The 90-minute show was broadcast on Youku and was hosted[主持]by Chinese celebrity[名人]Wang Nima. Many of the top artists in China appeared in the show and some familiar[熟悉的]faces from the UK can be seen as well.

The money raised during the event will go directly to the Baozou Foundation[基金會]in China. They will help young people living in poverty[貧困]in China and Africa.

中國的第一個紅鼻子節在今年6月1日通過一個網絡脫口秀節目拉開了帷幕。

這期節目吸引了超過三千萬人次收看。這個長達90分鐘的節目在優酷網上播出，由中國（網絡）名人王尼瑪主持。許多當紅的中國藝人出現在了這場脫口秀中，還有數張來自英國的熟悉面孔。

這次活動所籌得的善款將直接交給中國的暴走基金會。他們將幫助中國和非洲的貧困青少年們。

June 26this a day to remember for“Harry Potter” fans. It marks 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was first published[出版]!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone started a global phenomenon[現象]. Over the years, the seven Potter novels have sold more than 450 million copies[本]and have been translated[翻譯]into more than 70 languages.

Author J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to pay tribute to[向……致敬]the day writing, “20 years ago today, a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others. It’s been wonderful. Thank you #HarryPotter20.”

今年的6月26日對于“哈利·波特”的粉絲來說是值得紀念的一天。到這一天，《哈利·波特與魔法石》的出版已滿20載！

4 New Pineapple Comes with Pink Flesh!

粉肉菠蘿來襲！

A new pink pineapple, developed through genetic engineering[基因工程], has been approved[審批]by the FDA[（美）食品及藥物管理局]. This pineapple has pink flesh[果肉]instead of yellow, and the developers say it tastes sweeter.

The new pineapple produces lower levels of the enzymes[酶]and it changes the yellow beta-carotene[β-胡蘿卜素]to the pink lycopene[番茄紅素], said the FDA. Lycopene is the pigment[色素]that makes tomatoes red and watermelons pink, so it is common and safe. The developers will label[標注]the product “extra sweet pink flesh pineapple.” It will be grown in Costa Rica.

一種通過基因工程改造的菠蘿新品種粉肉菠蘿，通過了美國食品及藥物管理局的審批。這種菠蘿的果肉呈粉紅色而非黃色，且其研發者說它吃起來更甜。

5 Great White Shark Jumps onto Fishing Boat

大白鯊登船驚魂記

An Australian fisherman was taken by surprise[使……措手不及]when a great white shark leapt[跳躍]out of the air and landed in his fishing boat in New South Wales.

The shark knocked[碰撞]the fisherman to his feet and tore[撕開]the skin off his arm. The 72-year-old fisherman quickly radioed[用無線電發送]for help and was taken off his boat where the shark was still thrashing[猛烈擺動]around. The boat was 4.5 metres long, and the shark was about 2.5 metres and weighed about 200 kilograms!

在澳大利亞的新南威爾士州，一條大白鯊突然躍出水面，掉落在了一位澳大利亞漁民的船上，這可把漁民嚇得不輕。
