On 11 July, China Southern Airlines launched a new service from Guangzhou to Langkawi. It's the 4th destination in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Sabah. Since then, China Southern has operated 172 routes to 68 cities in 38 countries and regions along the Belt and Road, with weekly fl ights over 2000.

今年7月11日南航開通廣州—蘭卡威直航，是南航繼吉隆坡、檳城、沙巴之后開通的馬來西亞第四個通航點。自此，南航已在“一帶一路”沿線38個國家和地區的68個城市開通了172條航線，每周航班量超過2000個 。

Malaysia is located along the Marine Silk Road of the 21st century, and it is also an important partner of the Belt and Road. Langkawi is located in Malacca. It is the biggest group of islands in Malaysia that is described in classic Malaysian literature as the resting area of Garuda, the god bird and the mount of Vishnu. Langkawi is listed into Top 10 Most Beautiful Islands by National Geographic magazine, with elegant natural landscapes and wonderful culture. There are two main touristic spots on island. The one is the area around Langkawi airport, where you can fi nd Cenang Beach, Seven Wells Waterfall, cable car in Oriental Village, Island Tour and so on. The second is Kuah, which is the center to business and administration in Langkawi. There are Eagle Square, Langkawi Fair Shopping Mall. You can also buy some antique books at International Book Fair, or maybe you will be more interested in the tomb of Princess Mahsuri, who once cursed Langkawi.

The new fl ight uses Airbus A320s service from Guangzhou to Langkawi on 11 July, taking off every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 20:10 in Guangzhou, and arriving in Langkawi at 00:00 with return fl ight taking off every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 01:00 in Langkawi and landing in Guangzhou the next day at 05:00.
