Spirit of Play: Spielwarenmesse provides handson experience
The world’s leading trade fair in the toy industry Spielwarenmesse will host its 69th session from 31 January to 4 February 2018. The exhibition will set the Tech2Play, infants and baby products, and the brand new book section to showcase innovative products and related products. The exhibition will also commit to meeting the growing demand of exhibitors to try the toys hands-on. The exhibition will include industry award and business forums.
Established in 1950 in Germany, the last session of Spielwarenmesse early this year showcased about 1 million categories of products on a showground of 170,000 square meters and welcomed 73,000 trade visitors from over 120 countries.

Christopher McCuin to head Montgomery Asia
Christopher McCuin has been appointed managing director of Montgomery Asia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Montgomery, set up in 2016. He joined the group in 2010 to take over the directorship of The International Food Drink Event(IFE) and to run Pro2Pac. In 2015, his responsibilities were extended to cover global business development. He comes from a solid international exhibition background, having managed exhibitions held in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and China since 2003.

UBM increases scale in the Americas
UBM plc has been on a shopping spree in the Americas: In Latin America, MIREC (Mexico International Renewable Energy Congress) and AIREC (Argentinian International Renewable Energy Congress) have been acquired by UBM from UK-based Green Power Global. Through this acquisition, UBM expands its presence in Latin America, launching its first event in Argentina, and strengthens the company’s events portfolio in the renewable energy sector. MIREC, Mexico’s largest clean energy event, runs annually and is now in its seventh year.
In North America, UBM added THE Aesthetic Show and its associated media properties from U.S.-based media and events company Medical Insight, Inc. to its portfolio, creating an all-encompassing, holistic experience for the aesthetics market. THE Aesthetic Show is the leading annual, multidisciplinary medical exhibition and conference focused on the field of aesthetic medicine.
