Two Florida State football players， Bubba and Tiny，were taking an important exam. If they failed， they would not be allowed to play in the big game the following week.

The exam was “Fill in the blank” and the last question read， “Old MacDonald［唐老先生］had a _.”

Bubba was stumped［難倒］—he had no idea what to answer， but he knew he needed to get this one right to be sure he passed the exam. Making sure the teacher wasn't watching， he tapped［輕拍］Tiny on the shoulder. “Tiny， what's the answer to the last question？”

Tiny laughed， then looked around to make sure the professor hadn't noticed. He turned to Bubba and said， “Bubba， you're so stupid. Everyone knows that Old MacDonald had a FARM.”

“Oh yeah，” said Bubba， “I remember now.” He picked up his pencil and started to write the answer in the blank. But then he stopped， tapping Tiny on the shoulder and whispered［低聲說出］， “Tiny， how do you spell ‘farm'？”

“You are really dumb［愚蠢的］， Bubba. That's so easy，”whispered Tiny. “Farm is spelled ‘E-I-E-I-O.'”

While surfing off the Florida coast［佛羅里達(dá)海岸］， a tourist snapped［突然折斷］his board. He could swim， but his fear of gators［短吻鱷］kept him clinging［緊抱，緊貼］to the broken board. Noticing an old beachcomber［海濱流浪漢］standing on the shore［海岸］， the tourist shouted， “Are there any gators around here？”

“No，” the beachcomber shouted back， “they haven't been around for years！”

Feeling safe， the tourist started swimming leisurely［從容不迫地］toward the shore.

About halfway there， he asked the beachcomber， “How did you get rid of［擺脫，消滅］the gators？”

“We did nothing，” the beachcomber answered.

“Wow，” said the tourist.

The beachcomber added， “The sharks got them.”

My mother hates sports. So after being forced［迫使］to go to a football game with her grandchildren， this was her conclusion： Football consists of［由……組成］22 men on the feld［賽場，運(yùn)動(dòng)場］desperately［極度地］in need

of a rest， and 40，000 in the seats desperately in need of exercise.
