CHINA SOUTHERN'S FLEET WELCOMES ITS 700TH MEMBER

On September 2nd, China Southern closed a bonded lease deal for an Airbus A321 in Nansha FTA (Guangzhou). The new member rounded up China Southern's fl eet of aircraft to 700, which raised it to fourth place in IATA's annual airlines ranking, the highest place ever achieved by a Chinese air carrier, after American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. By 2020, China Southern's fl eet will include 1,000 airplanes, which will transport 160 million passengers per annum.

IN-FLIGHT INTERNET ON TEST RUN ON BEIJINGGUANGZHOU ROUTE

Starting from September 1st, selected fl ights between Beijing and Guangzhou (CZ3106/CZ3111) are offering a trial infl ight internet service. This is the second route where China Southern offers this service, following the Guangzhou-Sydney route. During the test run, the in- fl ight internet service is automatically available to all First/Business Class passengers, whilst Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers need to apply in advance for the service through our website or WeChat. The service is free of charge at the moment.

SPECIAL MEALS CAN BE BOOKED ONLINE

Passengers who have special requirements for in-f l ight meals can now book their in-f l ight meals online, choosing from the 20 special in-f l ight meals in four categories including Kids, Religion, Health and Vegetarian. For example, to cater for people of different religions, we now offer Jewish, Muslim and Hindu Meals, which are prepared in adherence to religious customs. For vegetarians, we offer Asian, Western, Eastern and Western Egg and Milk Diet. Interested passengers can book the service on our website www.csair. com prior to fl ight.

CHINA SOUTHERN EARNED CROSS-BORDER E-COMMERCE LOGISTICS INNOVATION AWARD

China Southern earned the Cross-border E-commerce Logistics Innovation Award upon the second edition of “One Belt One Road” China International Crossborder E-commerce Logistics Conference held in Lanzhou from September 11th to 13th. The event was sponsored by China Communications and Transportation Association. Launched on 1st January 2015, China Southern's inbound logistics business now covers 15 major international navigational points across 10 countries. In the fi rst half of 2016, China Southern, together with its global partners, handled 1.07 million inbound cross-border e-commerce parcels, up 234% year on year, beating any other cross-border logistics industry players operating in Guangzhou Airport.

CHINA SOUTHERN ATTENDS CHINA & CENTRAL-ASIA CIVIL AVIATION COOPERATION CONFERENCE

The China & Central-Asia Civil Aviation Cooperation Conference was held in Urumqi on August 30th. Mr. Wang Changshun, President of China Southern Air Holding Company and Chairman of China Southern Airlines remarked in his speech that China Southern is a fi rm supporter of and an active player in the“One Belt One Road” initiative. Going forward, China Southern will spare no effort to build the hub of Urumqi to complement the hubs of Beijing and Guangzhou. While continuing to improve its strategic network of aviation hubs, China Southern will work with all stakeholders in promoting air transport interconnectivity among nations along the Silk Road Economic Belt (“One Belt”) so that people of all these nations benef i t from the initiative.

The Soul Hunter, an Internet-only fantasy fi lm franchise co-produced by China Southern Air Media, Internet Film Group (IFG), Beijing Geabies, MSI and half a dozen others, is fi nally to hit screens. The last of three Chinese fantasy IPs, including Mojin-The Lost Legend and Time Raiders, the franchise has aroused widespread interest across the market and among the Chinese audience. The franchise is also one of the fi rst Internet-only fi lms featuring a big budget – the fi rst fi lm in the franchise cost RMB 6 million.
