W: Do you want to be an actor?
M: No. I want to be a teacher. What about you?
W: I want to be a doctor.
Text 5
W: Where did you go on vacation?
M: I went to Japan.
W: What do you think of Japan?
M: It’s boring. I want to go to China next time.
Text 6
W: Hello, Mark. Where are you going?
M: To the cinema. Will you please go with me?
W: No, thanks. I’m going home. I’m afraid I have to do my homework.
M: What a pity! I think it’s a very good film.
W: How often do you go to the cinema?
M: Nearly once a week. I usually watch TV in my free time.
W: Oh, I see. By the way, where are you going for your holiday this year?
M: I don’t know yet. My parents prefer visiting some museums.
W: Is that true?
M: Yes, but I want to go to a camp outdoors. What about you?
W: I’m going to stay in the library and read some books.
M: Hope you have a good holiday.

W: Hi, Jack, haven’t seen you for ages. What are you doing nowadays?
M: I’m preparing for my chemical experiments.
W: What sports do you usually do when you are free?
M: I usually play tennis in our school sports center.
W: Tennis? That’s my favorite game, too. When do you play it, Jack?
M: Every Wednesday afternoon. What about you, Kitty?
W: I play tennis every Saturday morning.
M: Where do you usually play it?
W: In the Sunshine Club. Have you been there?
M: Yes, I have. Are you going to play there next Saturday morning, Kitty?
W: Of course. Why don’t you go with me?
M: I’d love to. What time shall we meet?
W: Let’s meet at its gate at 8:30.
M: Good. See you then.

W: Hello, Tom. It’s you again. What’s wrong with you this time?
M: Oh, doctor, I need some medicine. You see, I often feel tired and I don’t feel like doing anything.
W: Let me see. I don’t think there is anything wrong with you, Tom. Your problem is that you’re overweight. I told you to exercise every day. Did you do it?
M: No, you see, doctor. I’m always up too late in the morning. I have no time to do morning exercise.
W: Why not do your exercise in the afternoon?
M: Well, I have to do my homework.
W: What about the evening?
M: But doctor, I love watching TV in the evening.
W: Tom, you have to do exercise for at least an hour a day. You must follow my advice, or you’ll soon become too heavy to move any more.
M: Thank you anyway ... Doctor ... Shall I come to see you again next week?
W: I don’t think so. Do more exercise and have less high-fat food. That’s the best medicine for you.

W: Hi, Daniel. Have you finished your maths homework?
M: Not yet. I’m going to finish it tonight. How about you, Amy?
W: I haven’t started yet. I feel it’s too difficult for me. Can you help me with it?
M: Sure. I’m glad to help you. Why not come to my house after school? We can do our homework together.
W: That’s a good idea. I’ll arrive at five o’clock.
M: What about your English project? Have you done that?
W: Oh, yes. I’ve finished it. It was easy.
M: Oh, I’ve done only a bit of that. I’m having trouble with it. Maybe you could help me.
W: Of course. We’ll help each other this afternoon. I’ll help you with your English project. Then you can help me with my maths homework.
M: All right. We can watch cartoons on TV after that.
Text 10
Tom, Mike and Jack once lost their way in the forest on a cold day. They came to a farmer’s house and asked the farmer if they could stay in his house for the night.
“Sure,” said the farmer, “but I only have a room for two of you in the house. The other one will have to sleep with my horses in another big house. I’m afraid the big house may smell terrible.”
“I’ll sleep in the big house,” said Tom.
But half an hour later there was a loud knock on the door of the farmer’s house. Tom stood outside the door and said, “The smell there is terrible. I can’t sleep at all.”
After a few minutes there was another knock on the door. “I can’t sleep, either,” said Mike.
“How can that be?” said Jack, “Let me try.”
About twenty minutes later came another knock. When they opened the door, Tom and Mike saw all the horses outside.
