On Deng Xiaoping’s Reform and Opening up Thoughts

【Abstract】Deng Xiaoping's reform and opening up thought pushed China's long closed door.Since then，China's economy has been developing rapidly，and people's living standards has been improving fast.As material life has been gradually met，corrupt thoughts like“money worship”，hedonism appeared，the understanding of the profound ideological connotations of Deng Xiaoping's reform and opening up thought will be strengthened by learning the relevant content of it.

This paper starts with the profound connotations and historical significance of Deng Xiaoping's reform and opening up thoughts to strengthen the understanding of it.

1.The profound ideological connotations of Deng Xiaoping's reform and opening up thoughts

China's reform is not just to stay at a certain level，it was a comprehensive reform because it covers all aspects of economic，political，cultural，and social reform.

The economic base determines the superstructure，the economic development is the guarantee of political，cultural and social development，without economic reform as a backup，everything else would be a dream.So in strengthening comprehensive reform，economic reform should be a key to the overall reform and a lot of positive and effective measures should be taken：First，the traditional concept that the plan was opposite to the market was refreshed； Secondly，reforming economic management，cultivating a variety of economic and market system，changing the rural political and social unity system，reform of management system shall expand to the fields of science and education，and focusing on the thought that science and technology are primary productivity，the development and progress of science and technology to provide technical support for economic development； and finally，letting the demonstration of special economic zones work with economic system model，to carry out a comprehensive expansion of opening up.

Before the reform and opening up，an important feature of China's political system was that its high concentration.In March 1979，Deng Xiaoping said in the speech of“Sticking to four cardinal principles” ：“Without democracy，there is no socialism and no socialist modernization.”[1]In the“Reform of Party and State Leadership”speech published in August 1980，the government put forward the basic idea of reform：First，the rights should not be too concentrated； the second is part-time post，deputies should not be excessive； the third is to address the issue of no separation between the work of party and government，the placement of the party for the governance； Fourth is to have a long-term plan，address the issue of shifting of duties.[2]This series of speeches have demonstrated the determination of the CPC Central Committee to conduct political reform and the construction of socialist democratic politics.

2.The practical significance of Deng Xiaopings Reform and opening up thought.

Since the reform and opening up，China's economy has rapidly developed from the coastal open port area and city to hinterland，open areas and cities attracted a lot of foreign investment，while foreign companies brought advanced science and technology，promoting the development of Chinese economy，the rapid development of the open regions and cities injected vigor to the whole economy.

Reform and opening up was a great turning point in Chinas history，new China ushered in a beautiful spring of development，unlimited dazzling brightness was added to it.Peace and development are the themes of our times，and the technology are primary productivity.[3]The development of technology relies on the spirit of innovation，and the technology will stagnate without innovation，so will the economy.China's socialist road is groping forward，problems encountered will be unique to socialism，the spirit of reform and innovation plays a vital role in Chinas socialism development.

3.Peroration

Deng Xiaoping's reform and opening thought was generated in the process of solving a series of practical issues of reform，opening up and modernization，and it has distinct practicalness.
