A Lamp in U.S. Burns Day and Night for 113 Years
A lamp in No. 4550 East Avenue, Livermore, California, U.S. has been used for 113 years, which has created Guinness World Records due to its longest burning time, and is also known as "Centennial Light". The lamp is maintained by a fire station of California. The long burning lamp is a 4W hand blown lamp using carbon filament produced by Shelby Electric Company in late 1890s. In 1901, it was donated to the fire station. Since then, except power failure, the lamp only went out momently in 1976 and 2013. Surprisingly, many electric lamps of similar production background are still well preserved and can be used normally today.
