In 1886, Karl Benz designed and manufactured a vehicle which was actually started by internal combustion engine, and was patented on January 29, marking the birth of the world's first automobile. In July 1886, he began to sell cars, and became the first person in the world to sell cars. Benz also manufactured the first four-wheel car in 1893, and the first racing car in 1899.
Benz founded his own company, Benz, and in 1926, merged with Daimler as Daimler-Benz to manufacture currently famous Mercedes-Benz cars. The world's first three-wheel car invented by Benz is now well preserved in Munich Museum, and even can be started up.
