勇士之歌是美國私人募捐團(tuán)體為軍隊募捐使用所創(chuàng)作的勁曲，主創(chuàng)者為Sean Householder。勇士之歌有兩個版本，硬漢版是Sean Householder與Tom Reynolds專門為海軍陸戰(zhàn)隊創(chuàng)作和使用的。歌詞中有I'm Devil Dog一句， Devil Dog——地獄惡狗，地獄魔獸，地獄犬，神話中的地獄犬三頭龍尾，性情十分兇殘，負(fù)責(zé)守衛(wèi)地獄大門和阻止亡靈離開。1918年6月，在第一次世界大戰(zhàn)中，美國海軍陸戰(zhàn)隊在攻擊西線的貝洛森林（Belleau Wood）時名聲大作。USMC作戰(zhàn)勇猛，像是“Dogs from Hell”，被德國人描述為“Teufel Hunden”（魔鬼犬）。后“devil dog”作為海軍陸戰(zhàn)隊的綽號一直流傳下來。
