The Monkey's Help
Most people have dogs or cats as pets. But some have other animals as pets, such as monkeys.
Long, long ago there lived an old man near the forest. He had neither wife nor children and was lonely. One day he found a little hungry monkey beside his mother who was killed by someone. He felt sorry for him and brought him home. He gave him some food. The little monkey never left the old man since then. The old man began to teach him to do some work. The old man had a garden. The birds came to eat the fruit when it was ripe. The monkey climbed up the trees and didn't stop running after them until they flew away. He learned to help the old man in many other ways.
The old man often fell asleep during the day in his chair. Then the monkey sat at the old man's side and prevented the flies from being on the old man's face.
It was quite hot one afternoon. The old man couldn't stay in the room and had to sit under the tree. He was asleep in his chair soon. A fly(蒼蠅) came and sat on the old man's nose. The monkey tried to chase(驅趕) it away. Soon the fly returned and sat on the old man's nose again. The monkey did the same thing again and again. This went on for five or six times.
The monkey at last became very angry. He jumped up, ran to the garden, and picked up a large stone. When the fly came and sat on the old man's nose again, he hit it hard with the stone. He killed the fly. Can you guess what happened to his master(主人) ?
