The Authority1 of the Teacher

We all of us respect teachers，because they teach us knowledge and the way to so along with other people．What is an ideal2 teacher? The most important quality of a good teacher is that he shows you how to do things by his conduct.

We love teachers．We love them because they are full of knowledge，good at their work，easy to get along with． The good teachers have authority because they trust students，give us freedom to develop our own personalities3． Their authority lies in their proper behavior． They make us admire them by their words，by their personalities．

In their eyes we are adults，capable of making decision by ourselves．They do not force judgment on students lightly. They do not play favorites4． In their eyes all of us are good children． All of us have teachers． Most of them earn our respect because they are worthy of our love．

The importance of Examination

The exam has become very important. Almost everything depends on exam. The good students must be the ones who can do well in1 the exam.

With the development of society，things are beginning to change． Although exam is still important as a record2，it has been commonly recognized that the abilities are more important. Now even the examinations are beginning to change． The focus3 has been shifted4 to the testing of abilities． This is a change for better．

Of course every coin5 has its two sides． Many People blame the system of examination． They are too impersonal． The fact is that we are got no other means up to now． It is still the most practical way to check on how well you can do in a certain course． The fact is most of the good students do well in the exam． This proves that examination is still an effective way at the present time

I am Afraid of Test

I am afraid of test． Test is not a piece of cake1 for me． Every time I take test， I feel nervous． It’s too tough a thing. The more important a test is，the more terrified2 I am． I often ask why one has to take it? Is it a necessity that we must pass it?

Many classmates have the same feeing as me. They say they cannot sleep well the night before the test，so the next morning they feel heavy3 and sometimes unable to do well. Even a good student feels less sure before the test， for they don't know whether they are good or not unless the final grades come out．

The test is too important to us. Many things depend on it. Our performance4 at school is judged by our grades is there，standing in our way. The most important thing for our study is to pass it or to get good grades．

As a result，it has an important influence on one’s way of study. I think in some way it affects teachers in their teaching as well． We learn in order to score high． That’s everything. We are trained to fit the test. Teachers spend much of their time working at the test paper. They can not help it，or their students cannot get good marks．

The purpose of the school changes because test is very important． It changes from the object of gaining knowledge to the passing of the test． It even in some way encourages some students to cheat in test. It results in unfair judgment. We are taught a lot of ways and skills to make us do better in test. I think it is a waste of time，for the same time and attention can be put to improve our ability to learn.
